Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Christmas is around the corner and some of us STIll don't know what to give to our friends and family. (Me included.) Yet while we all have specific items that we want to give others, we can't forget to give with the spirit of Christmas.

1. Give Thoughtfully

You probably aren't giving a gift to just one person; making both you and your wallet stressed. However, a good gift does not necessarily have to cost money. We don't need the newest iPhone or expensive jewelry to be happy. A handmade gift can be just as precious, if not more. The key is to think about the person whom you are going to give it to: who they are as a person, what they need, and what they mean to you. Don't buy a gift because you feel obligated to! The gift you give should be thoughtful and, trust me when I say, it will definitely show much you think about them.

2. Give a Surprise

Everyone likes a little bit of surprise in their life. Give a gift that it's unexpected and unique. This can be an inside joke between you two or maybe something they mentioned a while ago that they wanted/needed. Whether people say it or not, there is always the one gift that's really lame, but nevertheless they still want it. Last year, I accidentally broke my boyfriend CanOpener; so I bought him a new one for Christmas. He was shocked and laughed but knew that the gift was still sincere and thoughtful. However, If you still can't think of anything, then you can always go shopping with them under the disguise of looking for gifts for someone else. Watch their reaction to various items and you might end up finding something they long for but would never say it out-loud.

3. Give Joy

The best gifts aren't the random things that we will probably never use. They aren't the last minute gifts because we forgot or don't know them well enough. The best gifts are given with the receivers smile in mind. This could be a simple gift that evokes a feeling of joy and happiness within the person. For example: my mother doesn't need the latest trend items, but the smile on her face when I find the same perfume she wore on her wedding day is a gift to me in it own. Gifts that make others smile and laugh are what should be desired. Don't forget: 'tis the season to be jolly!

4. Give Love

Last but not least, Christmas isn't about the amount of presents you have or the money you have spend. It's about being with your friends and family and showing them how much they meant to you this past year. Whatever you decided to give, make sure it's filled with love! Gifts filled with love are the ones that you will remember for years to come. So wrap the present with care with a bow on top pulled tight, then on Christmas Day you'll see a smile that is so bright!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
