Growing up, I was always involved in a sport. I have played almost every sport offered to a youth, soccer, basketball, softball, hockey, and even karate. Now that I'm out of high school, I spend more time watching sports than I do playing them.

My favorite sport to watch is ice hockey, specifically the Philadelphia Flyers. I think it is completely normal for girls and women to follow sports, however, there are people out in this world who don't have this same belief. Here are 10 things we are sick of hearing:

1. "Did you start following sports for a guy?"

No. Did you start following sports for another guy?

2. "You know a lot about sports...for a girl."

Did you want to rethink that statement?

3. "Do you go to games?"

The ticket purchasing process is the same for men and women.

4. "Do you know what's going on? Let me explain it to you."

Unless I ask you a question, please don't assume that I don't know what's going on.

5."Why do you have the NHL app on your phone?"

Because I like to keep up to date with games, standings, and league news.

6."Do you even know who the players are?"

There's Claude Giroux, Jake Voracek, Shayne Gostisbehere, Nolan Patrick, Radko Gudas, Wayne Simmonds, Ivan Provorov, Travis Konecny... need I go on?

7. "Do you just wear the jersey so you can take a picture?"

I wear the jersey to support the team and the player out on the ice, not for likes and attention on Instagram.

8. "Do you watch to look at the players?"

While there are some fine men who play hockey, I watch because I enjoy the pace and intensity of the game.

9. "Do you seriously have to be home to watch the game?"

"Do you seriously have to be home to watch "The Bachelor?"

10. "I guess you really do know what you're talking about."

Yeah, and it shouldn't have taken you this long to figure it out.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
