You are so much more than you see.

To the girl who doesn’t know her self-worth,

You are awesome and you deserve a lot better than that guy you have settled for in the past. You tend to have a history of settling down for the first person that is accessible. Maybe that boy is sweet and loving and you do not notice that they are not the person for you, but everyone else sees it. They see how you still are never happy. They see all the little things that happen that you lowkey complain about. They see how he controls you, but you don’t see it.

You don’t deserve that. You deserve someone who would drop everything for you. You deserve someone who makes you love every second of the day, and never makes you question how he feels. You deserve someone who is so unbelievably happy to be with you. You deserve someone who treats you like a princess. You deserve happiness.

So just stop and take some time for yourself. Focus on you. Do things that make you so very happy. Go for a walk in the park, take some time to breath in the fresh air, take up journaling! Focus on how you feel and make sure you are feeling great. Take time to to discover yourself. That might sound cheesy, but until you discover who you are and are comfortable with yourself, you will never be happy with someone else.

I write this letter to you because I know what you're going through. I understand how hard it is to be comfortable with yourself when society is constantly telling you you won't fit in. I understand that sometimes you look in the mirror and you don't like what you see. I understand that it is a lot easier to preach about self confidence than to actually have it. But I also write this letter because I care and I know that you deserve better. You deserve to wake up happy every day of your life. You deserve to be so excited to live your life. You deserve a good job, a good guy, and a good life.

The best part is that you can get all of these things! You just have to believe it yourself. You need to stop rushing through life and stop for a minute and breathe. Look around at your life and think about what should change. Start journaling. You will discover more about yourself than you think just by writing about your day and your feelings. You can have a great life, a great guy, and feel great about yourself because you are fabulous. You are wonderful, loved, and cared about. It's easier said than done, but believe it.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
