Dearest Freshmen,
Now that you're all moved in and settled, your next step in the process of college life is acclimating to the Wake Forest atmosphere. As you walk around and admire the beauty of Wake, you must also admire the people of Wake, a small, quaint campus, bustling with life from the 4,800 undergrad on campus. However, a simple glance at these individuals simply will not suffice. You can never truly know a person by just one look.
When I first met Erin Buchholz, I thought she was normal. However, over the privilege of time and friendship, I have learned that she is one of a kind. Born and raised in the state large enough to be a country (and she will never let you forget it), she is truly someone you must meet.
• If you're in the Pit and you see a girl eating a Pit burger and downing a cup of Sprite, while chatting up every Pit worker in existence and then asking them for their Snapchat usernames, then you've met Erin.
• If you're in Benson and you see a girl eating an 8-count Chick-Fil-A meal, while pulling individual salt packets out of her wallet, then you've met Erin.
• If you're just walking on campus and you pass a girl with a lot of pep in her step, and most likely says hi to you, then you've met Erin.
• If you're in the Sundry looking for a jar of Nutella and there's a girl with more than one jar in her hands, you've met Erin.
• If you're in Zicks eating pizza, and you see a girl with pizza and garlic knots, while talking to the workers at Zicks, then you've met Erin.
• If you're walking to class and see a girl in a KD jersey with the name "Baby Buchholz" on the back, you've met Erin.
• If you're not from Texas, but claim to have dual-citizenship in Texas, and a girl yells at you and claims she is the true Texan, then you've met Erin.
• If you see a girl sitting with a spoon and a jar of Nutella, literally eating spoonfuls, then you've met Erin.
Needless to say, Erin is quite the character. While everyone truly has quirky qualities that make them who they are, Erin tops the list with some of the most interesting qualities in a person. I can truthfully say that meeting Erin has been one of the greatest privileges in my life, and it would be for you too. Someone who will always brighten your day, whether it's through her constant bubbly attitude or her ability to listen and understand, Erin is a ball of life. Next time you walk around campus and see someone that matches the qualities I've listed above, then you've met Erin and you should definitely say hi. Because if you don't, she will.
