Gilmore Girls Top 10 Episodes

We've been waiting eight years for this moment–a “Gilmore Girls” revival. A couple of months back, rumors spread regarding a possible Netflix continuation of the series. Of course, with no confirmation or reliable source, all fans had a sense of false hope.

It’s official—Netflix has announced

the four 90 minute episodes according to the four seasons. Information regarding the returning cast, premiere date, and plot line remains unknown. However, every fan has some confirmation this revival is happening and that seems to be enough.

My old roommate, Laura Aversano, and I ranked the episodes one day in our spare time. We were those people. Maybe that’s why were such great friends because we watched “Gilmore Girls” reruns together. Many may disagree depending on favorite characters and how many times you’ve re-watched the same episode, although these are our personal favorites. In honor of the reunion, here’s the list.

1. "You Jump, I Jump Jack” (Season 5, Episode 7)

“You can live a hundred years without really living for a minute. You climb up here with me, it’s one less minute you haven’t lived.” – Logan

Despite everyone’s love for Jess Marino, this is the moment that Rory sees Logan in a new light. For all the fans who considered Rory “sheltered,” that changed after watching her jump off a tower with an umbrella as part of the Life and Death Brigade. It's in this episode that Luke meets the Lorelai's parents. Imagine introducing your boyfriend to that family.

2. "Those are Strings, Pinocchio” (Season 3, Episode 22)

My second one is populated with characters slightly less eccentric, but supremely real, made of flesh and bone, full of love, who are my ultimate inspiration for everything.” Rory

No matter what you think of Emily, Richard, or Lorelai, if you did not cry during Rory’s graduation speech, you are not a true fan. This episode is an entire clichéone door closes and another one opens. Between Lorelai receiving news about opening the inn and Rory leaving Chilton, this finale is a bittersweet one, to say the least.

3. "I Can’t Get it Started” (Season 2, Episode 22)

“In fact, if you put oy and poodle together in the same sentence, you’d have a great catch phrase, you know? Like, oy with the poodles already.” – Loreali

We seem to love the finales or rather we love Jess Marino. Any episode that Jess declares his love for Rory, we try to hope their relationship will work out. This kiss made the audience ecstatic. Viewers even had the brief moment they shipped the possibility of Christopher and Loreali until Sherry announces she’s pregnant at Sookie’s wedding.

4. "Partings” (Season 6, Episode 22)

Lorelai: I don’t like Mondays, but unfortunately, they come around eventually!

Luke: I can’t just jump like this!

Lorelai: Well, I’m sorry to hear that. And I have to go.

Yet another finale, but by far one of the best episodes in the entire series. Maybe because I loved Matt Czuchry (Logan), so the episode I knew he was leaving Rory led to some issues. Aside from Logan’s graduation and the British-themed party, Lorelai gives Luke the “ultimatum.” The moment she becomes fed up with the April drama and Luke’s inability to commit is such a pivotal moment in the series.

5. "A-Tisket, A-Tasket” (Season 2, Episode 15)

I gotta tell you, of all the nutty, barn-raising shindigs this town can cook up, this one wasn’t half bad. Jess

The reasons we love the earlier seasons are due to the tortured, arrogant Jess Marino. Maybe we all adore him because he's slightly more literate than Dean and has real, intelligent conversations with Rory. It's probably safe to say we also sympathize with his upbringing. Regardless when Jess buys Rory’s basket at the annual charity picnic lunch auction, we begin to hate Dean even more for his response.

6. "Unto the Breach” (Season 7, Episode 21)

Emily: Just so you know, I read in the New York Times that people are getting married younger and younger these days.

Lorelai: Well, the good news is if it was in the New York Times, Rory saw it and filed it away.

Logan and Rory’s relationship lasted about two seasons, so if Amy Sherman-Palladino didn’t have Logan propose, viewers might have questioned that even more. Fans will never forget Emily and Richard’s singing, “You’re a bulldog through and through” to Rory on her graduation day. The biggest shock comes with Rory’s “Oh wow” response to Logan’s proposal.

Her first response isn’t a yes, she doesn’t tell her friends, and further contemplates her relationshipthus, we can assume she says no. Although, when she does tell Logan no, every viewer tries to justify this scene as Rory being better off by herself.

7. "The Great Stink” (Season 7, Episode 5)

Logan: That is hell of a long way to go just to say, I miss you.

Rory: Any thoughts in response?

Logan: I miss you, too, Ace.

Lorelai and Chris decide to go to Paris with Gigi, a trip they have always wanted to take with one another. However, this episode consists of Rory finally showing how upset she is with Logan abroad most of the time.

She tries to cover up her insecurities by telling Logan she is threatened by his colleague, Bobbie. There’s quite the number of quotable lines in this episode in regard to Bobbie as a pretentious, successful woman. In reality, we know Rory just doesn’t like the separation.

8. "Vineyard Valentine” (Season 6, Episode 15)

“Oh, no I dumped Luke. This is Clem. I picked him up at a truck stop on ninety-five. We were at the register paying for blue plates and our hands reached for the same Dixi Chicks Cassette.” – Lorelai

If the Martha’s Vineyard episode is any indication of a possible life between Logan and Rory then how can audience members not love them together? They bicker over having two copies of the Times. When Rory invites Lorelai and Luke to the Vineyard for the weekend, Luke’s impression of Logan changes. Luke likes Logan’s character more as he provides Luke with a Valentine’s Day present for Lorelai and is able to see the couple.

9. “Rory’s Dance” (Season 1, Episode 9)

Rory: He’s not my boyfriend.

Lane: Really? No? What is he then?

Rory: He’s my…gentleman caller.

It’s a love-hate relationship with this episode. Most of the time, we dislike Dean. He doesn’t take an interest in Rory’s life and doesn’t compromise often. This may be one of the few times we see him comply with one of Rory’s request.

Although, Rory sort of has to beg Dean to come with her to the Chilton formal when she knows he wouldn’t be interested in such an event. Despite the two falling asleep at Miss Patty’s and making everyone frantic, this episode confirms the two as a couple. I guess we have to be happy for Rory.

10. “The Deer Hunters” (Season 1, Episode 4)

Rory: Oh my God, I just got hit by a deer!

Lane: You hit a deer?

Rory: No, I got hit by a deer!

Lane: How do you get hit by a deer?

Rory: I was at a stop sign and it hit me.

Lane: Was it a 4-way stop?

Rory: What does that matter?

Lane: I don't know. I don't know what to ask after you've been hit by a deer.

Only four episodes in and Rory Gilmore shows her attitude. She yells in the classroom and confronts Headmaster Charleston. After studying for her English test all evening and waking up late, a deer hits her.

The entire episode feeds off a standoff between Rory and a deer. That seems to sum up how “Gilmore Girls” may have not always had the best storylines but as teenagers we loved every minute and even now continue to watch this same episode.

Binge-watch “Gilmore Girls” on Netflix. Between the distinct characters’ personality and the strange episode title names, this show is a classic. It’s not a show preoccupied with teenage issues.

“Gilmore Girls” incorporates underlying life lessons about relationships, culture, and wealth despite the way this may be presented. Simply, this series shows an average girl’s transition from a young high school student to a confident, intelligent, successful college woman.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
