If you know me, you know that I LOVE GILMORE GIRLS. This is my absolute favorite show, I have been through the whole thing (Netflix additions and all) at least 4 times. This show makes me aspire to be as dependent on coffee as Lorelei, be as smart as Rory, and just all around be funnier. Here are some quotes to help get you through your first week of school!

"People are particularly stupid today, I cant talk to anymore of them" - Michele

Because there is always that ONE person in your classes that always asked every single question that is answered right there on the syllabus and there is always that group of people that walks super slow when you are on your way to class.

"If you're gonna throw your life away he better have a motorcycle" - Lorelei

To all the freshman girls that fall super hard for that one frat guy... don't do it. He is not the one and if you must, at least make sure that he has something cool to waste your time with... like a motorcycle.

"W.W.T.B.F.C.D.?" - Lorelei

What would the Barefoot Contessa Do? Ask yourself this before you reach for that other serving of those "mashed potatoes" in the dining hall or before you throw another ramen in the microwave. Try to make your own dinner or snack that the Contessa would be proud of.

"Am I crying or laughing?"

Nuff said.

"Its all any of us wants, to find a nice person to hang out with 'til we drop dead.  Not a lot to ask" - Lorelei

All of us when it is the Friday of syllabus week and we are crying drunk on the bathroom floor of a frat house.

"Mom, you've given me everything I need" - Rory

Exactly what I say to my mom after she buys me a whole cartload of stuff from Wal-Mart and she is just making sure that I got all of the right toiletries and food items that I could need and I have to convince her that I am good.

“I cannot do this alone, I need my mommy and I don’t care who knows it.” - Rory

Literally me everyday. I call my mom almost everyday... also take this as a note to call your mom. She wants to hear your voice and also she might actually have something important to say.

"No men. Just lots and lots of Chinese food." - Paris

Those all-nighters that are between your best friends and you and are filled with the entirety of the Chinese restaurant down the street on your living room table.

“You have to sleep, it’s what keeps you pretty.” - Lorelei

The matra that we tell ourselves when it is late at night and Netflix asks if we are still watching.

"Life's short. Talk fast." - Lorelei

When you find out on day one that your 300 level teacher insists on making everyone go around and tell everyone their life story... because public speaking is def not your thing.

"The poptart tasted like freedom and rebellion and independence" - Lorelei

The words that you are whispering to yourself after you find the one lone snack left over from your shopping spree earlier in the week with your mom.

"This Is A Jumbo Coffee Morning. I Need Coffee In An I.V."

"This is a jumbo coffee morning.  I need coffee in an I.V." - Lorelei

I mean, with all the new found freedom (or rediscovered freedom) from living at home, you are bound to stay up all night and that frappuccino that you always get is not going to cut it so you wind up getting a double shot latte blah blah blah just to stay awake in your 8am.

"Flirt with him now.  We need coffee" - Rory

The thing that you start whispering to your friend when you are in the extra long Starbucks line but need to convince the cute barista to make your drinks first.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
