Going home for the summer may have its downsides, but at a certain point in the second semester, you’re ready. The time comes when it’s a relief to bid a long-awaited farewell to professors, exams, pencils, dining hall food and, for some, that boxy two-by-four dorm. Unfortunately, the final weeks of school tend to be the most challenging to claw through because, for inexplicable reasons, we still have papers and homework to finish while all we want to do is tan, drink iced tea and drive around with the windows rolled down. Don’t worry; we aren’t alone. As per usual, our loyal pals Nick and Schmidt feel the same.

1. When you first get back from spring break and realize that no longer can you lay in your bed until your parents tell you the dinner they just made you is ready. Because real life is a thing.

2. Assuming that your professors will understand your pain and hence give you easy assignments to take your leisurely time on for the rest of the semester.

3. But then realizing that, instead, you have 16 exams, 24 papers and a novel to publish before you are freed.

4. When you get to class and your professor asks you a question, but you've already checked out so you just state the first thing that comes to your mind.

5. Deciding that two days ago was crunch time. And so today is officially ... crunch time.

But seriously.

6. So you man up and give yourself a rousing, inspiring pep talk.

7. ...which works, until just absolutely everything is going wrong and you’re dying.

8. So there’s no other choice but to simply take a break and pretend school is not real.

9. Instead of studying, you fully commit yourself to preparing for the summer months which are inching closer and closer.

10. But your professor keeps sneakily reminding you that “there are still five weeks of school left,” destroying your daydreams of jean shorts and swimming pools.

11. Eventually, finals week rolls around. So...

12. You attempt to drown your pain. In whatever way possible.

13. After a week of coffee and libraries and crying, there comes a moment when you finally conquer your last final. And you are the champion of the world.

14. … but when you remember just how long summer break is...

15. You realize all too late that after about two weeks back home, you are going to constantly crave everyone and everything here.

And the countdown to fall semester begins...

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
