It is that time again where it seems as if everyone is talking about the presidential election. Election day is not so far away. Are you informed? Do you even know what political party you favor? My observation of my peers is that if they are not necessarily interested in politics to start with, they haven’t bothered to even think about the upcoming election. DO NOT BE THAT GUY. Seriously.

If you are young and eligible to vote, you should. Actually, scratch that. If you are eligible, period, VOTE. Not having the knowledge should not be your excuse, because becoming informed is not difficult. If you turn on the nightly news any night of the week, for months in advance, you will be able to pick you a few things about the candidates and their opinions. We live in a world of tweets, statuses and posts of all kinds. I say again, it is not difficult to become informed. Once you start to listen to the opinions and stances the candidates have taken on issues in our great nation, it will become evident to you what your own opinions are.

You may already be an informed, eligible voter. Once November 8th, 2016 rolls around it would be a shame to have forgotten or lost track of time and not got your vote in. Every vote counts. Every single one. You might not care at eighteen how our president is, but I can almost guarantee that when you are twenty-two years old, and living on your on your own, you will indeed care. Don’t you want your voice to be heard? No, casting your vote does not give you a seat in the Senate. It does, however, improve the chance that the man in the White House on Pennsylvania Avenue and you will agree on the issues.

So since you are already reading this, I thought I would inform you of some of the basic 2016 presidential campaign facts. First of all, there are three main Democrat candidates. Yes, that is the party symbolized by a donkey. Wait, three… not just Bernie Sanders and Hilary Clinton? That is correct, the third candidate running is Martin O’Malley. The republican party is a bit more hectic with twelve candidates in the running. They include: CEO Donald Trump, Dr. Ben Carson, Sen. Marco Rubio, Sen. Ted Cruz, Gov. Chris Christie, former Gov. Jeb Bush, Sen. Dr. Rand Paul, former Gov. Mike Huckabee, Gov. John Kasich, former Sen. Rick Santorum, and CEO Carly Fiorina.

Some of the issues that they have addressed in their individual campaigns and debates are healthcare, illegal immigration, our economy, terrorism, education reform, and more. I cannot explain in one simple article the magnitude of the different issues they address, and the opinions of all the candidates. That is your job as eligible voters. So please, get informed if you are not already. You will thank yourself in the long run.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
