“It’s Game Day in Tuscaloosa!”

It all starts on Wednesday. The red lines are drawn on the Quad and by Friday everywhere you look there are white tents just waiting for the tailgaters arrive. Waking up on Saturday you can feel the energy in the air. The vendors get to their tents early, so by the time you get up they’re already selling all things Alabama. Steadily the campus will begin to fill up with a sea of crimson. Tv’s are plugged in, hot dogs are unwrapped, buttons are pinned on dresses and fraternities crack open their beers. Game Day has officially begun.

While the team gets their gear on. Fans of all ages float around waiting for kick off. Kids play catch, while dad’s reminisce about the good ole days as there wife’s laugh and drink yellow hammers. The die hard fans start their pregame rituals and talk smack on the other team. Student’s mill around getting whatever food and drinks they can before they file into the stadium.

Two hours before the game fans line up on the Walk of Champions patiently waiting for the sirens to get closer as the team arrives. As “Thunderstruck” fills the air, Nick Saban leads the team to the locker room through the river of fans. You can’t help but to get chills as the team walks by. Players hug their families for good luck.

“Dixieland delight” and “Sweet home Alabama” can be heard from every corner of campus as pumped fans find their seats. Shakers ready, the Million Dollar band gets everyone ready for a great game leading the crowd in a cheer and forming the famous script A. Everyone is on there feet as Saban walks the team to the tunnel, says his last words before we face our opponent and the stadium begins to shake as fans cheer on the Tide while they run on the field.

Never in your life will you be apart of a game with more tradition, fans with more pride, or a team with more heart. Whether it’s 110 degrees or raining, you’ll still be able to hear the words of the fight song as Alabama plays for another win. Shakers move in unison to every song and “ROLL TIDE ROLL” never failsl to get the team going. When you see the hands go up holding up 4 and the Million dollar band begins to dance to “Basket-Case” you’ll know you’re in the best stadium around. After signing “Rammer Jammer” everyone leaves to celebrate another win by the Crimson Tide.

You want to experience a game day done right, just come to Tuscaloosa. Where you can watch the greatest football dynasty on the road to their 17th national championship.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
