Get ready kiddos, Gamedays are right around the corner! In the moment, we tend to complain about if it’s too hot and we’re sweating or it’s too cold and we’re trying to keep warm. Even though we whine about these little things, we have to admit that nothing beats being surrounded by the best of friends and enjoying the time we have to celebrate the university we’ve chosen to call home.
1.Get Ready with Friends
It always helps when we start the day off the right way, and that means doing our hair and makeup and riding to the tailgates with the best people in our lives.
2. Listen to Good Music
Get excited it’s GAMEDAY! Music always helps our group of gals have fun while getting ready and dancing around our little house. When there’s good music playing it’s always a good time and it gets us ready to have fun the rest of the day.
3. Good Pre-Game Meal
Whether you’re preparing a brunch at home or going to Chick-Fil-A to fuel up before the day starts, food is important. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. These days are fun, but they are long, so to enjoy it properly we have to be “full and focused”!
4. Pics or It Didn't Happen
Don’t forget to capture every moment with your people. All of my friends make fun of me for going back and looking at my own pictures and videos, but I can’t help it, I love all of the memories. Such fun times are so fun to look back on. In a few years when no one has any, you’ll be the person to bring up the pictures that make everyone laugh and smile.
5. Yellow Buses
At Georgia Southern, no game day is complete without being at Sigma Chi to watch the yellow buses pass. A tradition at Georgia Southern for many years, the yellow buses ride down Chandler Rd. pass Greek Row and go on to Paulson Stadium to play in the “prettiest little place in America”! Standing at Sigma Chi and cheering on our boys of fall is just a small portion of a Georgia Southern Gameday!
So, with these things being said, we all have our Gameday traditions and they’re so fun and important. Can’t wait for so many more days that seem to last forever and all of the pictures and memories to go with it for when they fly by too quickly.
