Since the fateful day of October 21, 2015 recently passed, I thought I'd write about the merge between my two favorite subjects: movies and sneakers. In the film Back to the Future and Back to the Future 2, Marty McFly rocks some beautiful kicks that makes sneakerheads green with envy.
1. Nike Bruin

Marty McFly rocks the Nike Bruin leather sneakers in Back to the Future and I personally find the Bruins to be a beautiful pair of sneakers. These were recently released as part of the "Back to the Future sneakers" announcement for Nike. If you don't mind manually lacing up your shoes, I'd say that the Bruins are a solid choice for a pair of simple, white sneakers that look better with age.
2. Nike Air Mag

When you think of Back to the Future shoes, you probably think of these: Nike Air Mag. The movie "predicted" many things for the year 2015. Some are ridiculous (Cubs winning the World Series?), some are plausible (hover boards) and some became true, such as the Nike Air Mag. These sneakers are able to self-lace when you put your foot in and light up. This might've seemed like a ridiculous concept, but Nike recently confirmed that Nike Air Mag will be released in Spring of 2016. Nike also released a video of Michael J. Fox (actor who played Marty McFly in the movie) putting the Air Mag on, just like he did in the movie. I can only dream of buying the Air Mags; the release of hyped sneakers of this calibre will have sneakerheads camping outside the stores and online for days. Resale value? You probably have to sell your left kidney and your soul to get a pair.
One of my dreams is to put on a pair of Air Mags and drive off in a DeLorean into the sunset. The likelihood of this happening to me is as likely as watching the Dodgers play solid baseball in the month of October, but I will keep dreaming.
