To my (Future) Husband,

Well, I guess this is it. Today's the day we sign up to be stuck with each other forever and ever. You have been able to see every side of me thus far, and I cannot wait to enter this new chapter of our lives with you by my side.

For me, this is a long time coming. I have always been the little girl who dreams of her wedding. I have been in love with the idea of being in love for as long as I've been alive.

Maybe I am so obsessed with love because I have spent all of my time watching everyone else's relationships. I have watched people fail, cry and break up. I have watched unhappy marriages that somehow stay together. I have seen happy couples. I have witnessed couples be married for decades and have never left that puppy-dog type of love.

All this watching has always had me reflecting. As a calculated woman, I know what I want and I know how to get it. Luckily, I know love is all about compromise, and I am very willing to compromise with you, as long as it's in our best interest.

I also know love is practical. I know love is kind. I know love is dedication, support, fighting, working out the details and spending time with one another. I know that I am the one who is willing to do all of this with you and for you.

I never want for the romance to stop. I want to surprise you with small gifts and tokens of my appreciation. I want date nights and snuggly nights in. I want you to know that no matter what, my priority in this relationship is you. I will spoil you and never ever forget to tell you I love you.

I want you to know my second priority is communication. We are a kick-ass team and if I've learned anything at all in my entire life, it's that teams work best when communication is abundant and also abundantly clear. I want to never stop speaking with you. I want to hear about your day every single day, I want to reason the important things with you, I want to have long conversations about the future. Tell me when I'm being stubborn, tell me when I'm being irrational, tell me I've been sweet. I don't care what you say as long as you never stop talking.

I want nothing more than for you to be happy. I want to be your perfect puzzle piece and your sunshine on a cloudy day. I want to dance around the kitchen while we make breakfast. I want to sing terribly in the car with you and I want to watch stars with you.

I'm sorry for when I cry too often, for when I do something you asked me not to do, for when I get stubborn, for when I shut you out. It happens to us all, and I will always get over it with a kiss to the forehead and a hot cup of tea.

Thank you for loving me through my moodiness. Thanks for listening to my day or my rants or my thoughts on politics, religion and education. Thank you for telling me I look great in that dress. Thank you for showing me what unconditional love looks like. Through everything, you have always been there. I want you because you have proven that you have made me a priority in your life, too.

I cannot wait to build this independent life together. I want the goods and the bads and the highs and the lows and the everythings in between.

I am thankful for you on this day, and every single day. I love you.

Love Always,

Your (Future) Wife

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
