12 Fun Things to do This Summer

It is hard to believe that the school year is almost over and summer is almost here! It feels like recruitment was so long ago, yet so recent at the same time. But now, as the school year is coming to an end, summer lists are beginning to be made. Summer is a time filled with fun adventures and memories to be made! There are many things that you can do to have fun. But before you know it, summer will be over, and we will be back on the grind, so plan ahead for a fun filled summer.

Go on a Hike.

Hiking is a must when it comes to summer! It is a perfect way to spend your time outside in the fresh air, and you get a great exercise in as well.

Take a Weekend Road-Trip.

What better way to spend a weekend, than with your crew in a new place?

Go to the Zoo.

Whether you spend your time looking at the penguins or watching the monkeys as they mess around, a day at the zoo is filled with memories, and fun to be had with your family or friends.

Have a Picnic.

A picnic may seem old fashioned, but it still is a lot of fun. Put some food in a cooler or basket, and find a grassy spot to lay down a blanket and enjoy a relaxing meal. It is something different, and it's a great way to make memories with your friends.

Go to a Drive In Theater.

Take your best friends and go to the nearest drive in movie! It is totally worth driving a couple of hours and you can make a mini road trip out of it.There is something fun about laying on your car, or in the bed of your truck, while watching a movie on a large screen underneath the stars. It is an experience that you won't forget.

Spend the Day at the Lake.

What is better than being at the lake with your friends?... Not only do you get to enjoy the sunshine and tan in it, but you also get to be right beside the water with your favorite people.

Go Boating.

Relaxing on the water with your best friends while getting tan...what more could you ask for?

Attend an Outdoor Concert.

Summer is a great time to go to an outdoor concert! At outdoor shows, you have more freedom than at indoor shows. There is nothing that isn't enjoyable about sitting in the grass listening to music you enjoy! So if you don't have your Watershed or Paradiso tickets, get them now!

Seeing a Summer Sunrise.

Nothing is like seeing the sunrise in the summer. When you are out with your friends it will make you feel more alive!

Have a Bonfire.

What better way to spend a summer night, then getting together with your friends under the stars around a campfire?

Get Active.

Play a sport or go for a run. After breaking a sweat and working out, you will feel accomplished. You may even want to try something new like a yoga class or a dance class. Summer sports are fun, even if you are not good at that specific sport, because it is who you are with that makes it fun, and you are outside in the fresh air!

Try Something New.

As kids, summer was the time when you were able to explore. The time away from school was time spent trying new things, and experiencing new things that would later become memories that are forever treasured. Why does it have to stop now that we are grownups? It doesn't. There is so much to see and do, and now that we have three months away from the books and classes, it allows time for new things. So, go skydiving or cliff jumping! Go on a road trip to a place you have never been before! The possibilities are endless, and the things you do now will become treasured memories later.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
