After my first year of college, I was told multiple times that I make college look easy. There are multiple ways how the college experience can affect someone. For me, I’m not super involved although I have found ways to make college fun with the organizations I am involved in. So without further adieu, here are 8 college tips from the “girl who makes college look easy.”

1. Use sticky notes

Write your random happenings down because then you’ll be more apt to remember it.

2. Use your planner(s)

Copy your coursework into a planner so that you can be up-to-date on what’s going on in your classes

3.Go to class

Don’t be the slacker that skips, you’re paying for your education so make it worth it.

4. Don't go out every night

That is probably one of the most popular ways students get behind. I'm not saying that college students shouldn't go out. My point is that you need to have good time management.

5. Don't be involved in every organization on campus

Pick out the main organizations that you really want to be involved in and stick with them. It'll create good opportunities and memories for years to come.

6. Say no

It’s perfectly okay to say no to anyone. If you think you won’t have time or if you feel uncomfortable, say no.

7. Plan a good time to do laundry

PSA if need a good time to do laundry, get up and do it early because no one is in the laundry room.

8. Get a good amount of sleep each night

It’s all about how much sleep you can function well on. Personally, I need at least 7 hours each night.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
