“You’ve Changed.” Something I’m sure we’ve all heard. People haven’t seen you for months, and for some reason, they don’t like the change they’ve seen within you. Even though the change could be good it doesn’t matter, a change is a change to some people, and that change just happens to be a negative attribute for some unknown reason.
Change isn’t bad. In fact, change can be good. Change can be for the better, not the worse. Unfortunately, some people judge on what is known, rather than what is unknown. As 2 Corinthians 4:18 says, “so we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
I’m in college now, and college is a time to explore who you are. It’s not a time to stay the same person just because you don’t want to change. Don’t be afraid of change and be open to new things and new people. College truly is the best years of your life, and if you change, you change, accept it.
So yes I’ve changed. But I changed for the better. I’ve never been happier. I’ve been open to more experiences and poured my heart out to God. I’m beyond grateful for who I am, and for the change I have encountered. So I’m sorry for changing, but I’m sorrier that you don’t like it.
