As your best friend, I obviously worry about you like a mother and a sister and a grandmother and a puppy all in one. So, when I heard you liked a boy, I got suspicious. After all the heartbreaks we’ve both gone through, the wasted emotions and the roller coaster rides of what were not ideal relationships in the past, it would take me a lot of convincing to really think that you’ve found a keeper.

It could have gone one of three ways: you would find a boy who will like you for a week, or you would find a boy who doesn’t treat you the way you deserve, or maybe if you got really lucky, you could find a genuinely great guy.

And you did the impossible - you found a guy who cares about you and your emotions! I cannot stress it enough how happy I am that you are in a good relationship where love is reciprocated. I’m glad that you have someone in your life that can make you smile when you’re feeling down, someone who you can tell everything to, and someone you can be completely yourself with. I love seeing you happy, and even though I may hate your constant PDA, I’m overjoyed that I can see you feeling such a great feeling.

I may get jealous. After all, you’re basically my future husband, in female form. I see that there is someone else who gets all of your (ahem, our) inside jokes, someone else who can take credit for being there when you were sad, and someone else who you can tell all of the secrets you told me.

As your friend, I am supposed to be delighted that you are happy, but as I said before, I’m kind of like a puppy. Don't forget that I still want to hear how your day went and I still am willing to do everything for you that I possibly can, because these years of friendship will never, ever, ever divide us, no matter how unbalanced and hectic our lives get. I am trusting that you’ll be able to balance your love life and your friend life, because nobody has meant as much to me as you do.

I support your relationship so much and I’m rooting for you guys every day. I love that you and your boyfriend and I can all be best friends. I love that you also don’t get jealous if I talk to your boyfriend without you because you trust the both of us. I love the smile that makes your face light up when he gives you a hug, and I hope that you never lose that glow. No matter if it’s with this guy or some other person in the future, I can’t wait to see you live the rest of your life happily with someone you love.
