Summer is a blessing for most people-the end of the brunt of most of the stress from the school year, and a chance to kick back and enjoy the sunshine (and the Florida thunderstorms) for a couple of months. For those who would like to go out with friends or family without spending large amounts of money, however, it can be a challenge to find fun activities which are lost in cost (or free). Here's a list of a few simple ideas that could make for a fun summer day.
Blow Bubbles
No, it may not be the most sophisticated activity, but there is something undeniably enjoyable about spending a hot summer afternoon in the backyard popping bubbles
Go go the Dunedin Island Causeway
A free and less crowded alternative to the beach itself, the Dunedin Island Causeway is a nice strip of sand where one can park their car and simply enjoy the scenery, or walk along the water. Bringing some friends along with with sandwiches to eat is optional, though recommended
Go to All About Puppies
All About Puppies, a pet store which has three locations in Tampa, Brandon, and Sarasota, allows for interaction with the (adorable) animals without necessary having to buy them. One can go to the store and just spend some time playing with the furry friend of their choice
Visit a Library
If you're as much of a bookworm as I am, you'll find some pleasure in visiting the Clearwater library, which not only has five floors and a beautiful view from said floors, but a seemingly endless selection of books to look at
When it comes to summer activities, it's easy to find pleasure in the simple things sometimes. Other times, however, it is also perfectly acceptable to spend an evening on the couch watching an entire season of one show on Netflix.
