Formal is Over... Now What?

What really goes through your head the day after formal.

Formal is Over... Now What?

Everyone looks forward to the day of formal. Getting dressed up, taking so many pictures that your storage fills up on your phone and dancing the night away. No one talks about what happens the day after and the questions that fill our heads. Here are some gifs to explain exactly how you are feeling.

What happened to my shoes?

Waking up and realizing that your shoes are ruined or you lost them can be a very upsetting. You start replaying your whole night over and cannot think of when you destroyed them. That's why it is important to have certain shoes dedicated only to formals. This way you don't care that much that they are scratched up and the heel is about to fall off.

Where are my keys?

As with the shoe scenario, the fact that you have misplaced your keys is upsetting. Keys are a little more important than shoes though. Retracing every step that you made last night and texting your friends are the only things that can help you, now. Hopefully, you have friends that are more responsible than you, because if not you might just be out of luck.

Am I really that awkward of a dancer?

Why, yes, you are. I know you thought that you were getting it on, on the dance floor, but all of those stares weren't because you were talented. Forget what people think and remember that you killed it at formal.

How many pictures did I really take?

Wow, did I really take 50 pictures last night? Yep. That's okay because the more pictures you have the more you can look back on all the fun that you had. How else will you remember that you rocked your dress and had the perfect formal date? Taking pictures are a must and the best part is looking through them all again the next morning.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
