"Be not quick in your spirit to become angry, for anger lodges in the heart of fools." -Ecclesiastes 7:9.
Pain is one of the most common feelings that humans experience almost every other day. Pain cannot only be caused physically but mentally and emotionally, as well.
When one of your family members or friends start going behind your back, you start to feel sad. However, when you let their betrayal get to you, you are not only allowing them to take your happiness away, but you are also allowing them to make you become bitter.
"Forgiveness does not change the past, but it does enlarge the future." -Paul Boese
. We have all been guilty of holding grudges to the people who have harmed us. Sometimes we wish that something bad would happen to them or that they do not deserve any happiness.
I do not believe that anyone should not feel this way because it is a common response that often comes from the human mind. It is also hard to forgive the people who have wronged or hurt you, especially if they are not apologetic for what they did. "Mistakes are always forgivable if one has the courage to admit to them" (Bruce Lee).
Forgiveness will help guide your mind to peace. Although you may never forget, you should still attempt to be the better person. In my opinion, the Devil comes and tries to destroy your attempts at finding inner peace within yourself.
"To be Christian means to forgive the inexcusable because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you." -C.S. Lewis.
Through my perspective, the human race was never designed to be perfect. It has many flaws and many individuals that have judged one another for long periods of time.
Moving on is not easy, but it is worth it in the end. Some things are better left in the past if you want to make positive improvements to your future, as well. The longer you hold grudges, the more bitter you will become.
Is it really worth it? Would you really prefer to let anger swell up in your heart, instead of happiness and peace? You are the one who decides whether or not to stay bitter forever or just let the wounds heal with time.
"The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong." -Mahatma Gandhi.
Forgiveness makes the heart stronger and more courageous. When you are willing to rise above the negative outcomes, more positive opportunities will arrive at your feet.
