For The People

This one's for all the people in my life: past, present, and future.

There are approximately 7.4 billion people in the world, and of those people there are a small percentage of people who have either been a part of my life, are a part of my life, or will be a part of my life. So this is for all of those people.

For the people who have been there since the beginning of my existence: There has never been a point in my life where I did not know I could come to you for whatever I needed. You are the people who love me unconditionally and who I love just the same. Though we may fight and argue, I know one thing that will always be true: we are family.

For the people who bullied me: Thank you for showing me that what others think of me is irrelevant if it is not who I beleive myself to be. You caused me to fear going to school and made me cry myself to sleep, but the biggest affect you had on me was making me into the type of person that does not try to change herself based upon what everyone else wants, but someone who embraces what makes her unique and special.

For the people who broke my heart and will: At one point in my life, I thought we were in it for the long run, but that was not the case. Some of my best memories include you and that is something I will not trade for anything, so thank you for that, but some of my worst memories also include you and while I would not want my worst enemy to have to go through heartbreak, I know that it is an inevitable part of life. One that will ultimately make you a stronger person.

For the people who taught me and will: There is no better gift than the gift of learning. Teaching is something that not everone can do and I know that in the beginning I may not have made it easy, but that in the end I was completely transformed into the person I am today. The person who has learned so much and wants to learn more for the rest of her life.

For the people who comfort me when I am at my lowest and will: I cannot thank you enough for putting up with me when I feel like everything I have worked for has been worthless and that things could not get much worse. I know it was not always the easiest job, but you have picked me up when I was down and that is one of the best things you could do for me.

For the people who believe in me even when I don't believe in myself and will: You are the people who help me reach my most seemingly unattainable goals. Thank you for making me realize that anything I want in life is possible. You have helped me build my confidence so much and this is something that will always be with me.

For the people who have made me laugh and will: Laughter is one of those things that I want to have happen to me every single day. It is one the best forms of medicine out there for when you are just having a crappy day where nothing seems to be going right. You are a part of my best memories in life. The ones the hold the best stories. The ones that I can look back on and cannot help but smile.

For the person I will love with every single part of me: I hope you are out there creating memories good and bad because I cannot wait to hear about your life. I'm not sure when we will meet or if we already have, but I know I am lucky to have you and I cannot wait to share our lives.

For my future kids: I am not sure what you are going to look like, what your personality will be like, or whether you will be an artist or an athlete. What I do know is I will love you no matter what. I also know that I will always be there for you whether you need help with a tough problem or just need someone to talk to I will be there.

I have a wide array of people in my life. And no matter how they affected me, positively or negatively, I would not change the fact that you were, are, or will be a part of my life because you have made me into the young woman that I am today.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
