Every now and then I have those days where I feel like I am stuck in the constant vortex of a depressed vacuum. Getting sucked up, spit back out, and sucked up again. With depression, of course, there is the really high days and the really low days. This is for the days that I am low and for others who have the low days as well.

1. The low days will pass.

The days that you think will never end will and the highs will come back. You will not want to lay in this bed forever. You will not be sad or sensitive or cry like this forever. The little flash flood storm will dry away and it will be good again.

2. It is okay to have a low day.

Life is hard and life sucks so do not belittle yourself or let anyone belittle you for feeling sad. Believe it or not, sadness is an easy trait to acquire even when you hate it.

3. Remember the little things.

I know the saying find happiness in the little things is kind of cliche but cliche or not that little small saying is of high importance. The days when you are down and feeling low you can look at something small to make it better or bring you some sort of happiness.

For example the weather, an animal, family member, good news, reading a book, etc. There is so many. It really usually is just your preference or type of person you are.

4. Go out and do something.

Getting out may help because being cooped up in the bed can only make things worse. Get a pal or an animal and go enjoy your day. Go to the park, go eat, go adventure, etc. It really doesn't matter it might just change your day completely. Research has shown that when down, going out works to improve the feeling that you're feeling.

5. Talk to somebody.

Talking and venting is a good way to help express yourself and let your anger out. And we all know that we have that go to a person that is always there to help and when you talk to them you feel so much better. It's like a relief off your shoulders.

6. You're worth something.

On the bad days, you have to remember your worth and the good things about yourself. The things that make you, you and the things that make you special. Don't let the low days take that away from yourself. I know it will but sometimes you have to stop yourself, take a breather and take it all in.

The days can get low, but you will always get back right.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
