I've always been told that when it comes to writing, you should write what you know. Sadly, stress and anxiety are two things that I have come to know particularly well so far in my life. Whether it be anxiety from school, a job, or a relationship, there's a solution to the problem. I want to share with you some things that can help you cope with your stresses.
I want to share some verses with you that can bring you comfort in your time of stress.
The first one I want to share with you is Matthew 6:33. It reads, "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." I like this verse because here is the word of God coming from Jesus directly and it is a promise from Him. If you go to God and seek Him before everything else, He will take care of you.
Another verse to seek comfort in is Ephesians 6:13, "Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm." This verse reiterates what my first one says. Seek God and He will protect you. He will take care of you. I like this verse especially because of the phrase "the full armor of God". I think comfort can be found in God.
My third verse I want to share with you is Psalm 46:1, "God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble." In whatever struggle you are currently going through, you are not alone. God sees all. He knows your struggle. He knows you. He is our refuge and strength, so take shelter in Him. Talk to Him and take comfort in Him and His word.
Like I said before, I write what I know. I know anxiety but I also know God. I know He is my Savior. Just because I am a Christian, it doesn't mean that I don't go through struggles or that everyday is perfect and I'm always happy. I've gone through times of stress and anxiety where I wake up in the middle of the night freaking out for no apparent reason. But verses like these are the ones I fall back on.
For anyone struggling with stress and anxiety, just know that you are not alone. When you find yourself in this situation of unbearable stress, my advice is to read the Bible. Just open it up and read. It doesn't matter where you are in it, you'll find comfort. Another thing is to pray. The Bible says to pray without ceasing. God is ready and willing to help and listen to you. Ultimately, just know that you were made from the God of the universe. He breathed life into you. He brought you into existence and if He did that, He obviously cares for you. Rely on that God, for He will save you. I'll leave you with one last verse from Matthew 6:34, "So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will take care of itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
