Cue inspirational pep talk: Its that time of the semester again...midterms. Next to finals week this is probably one of the hardest and longest times at school. Even if you don't have a bunch of tests to take, this week is jam-packed with projects, papers, and presentations. Professors just try cramming as much work into the week before spring break, and they forget we're human too and can only handle so much. I know you can get through this and will do the best you can. It's hard to stay calm during these times but If you're feeling a little overwhelmed here's a few ideas to help you get through this stressful time.
1.Go play with some puppies.
This is a given, I mean who doesn't feel relaxed by playing with little bundles of joy?
2. Invest in an adult coloring book
It sounds dumb but honestly so worth it. If you to give your mind a break this is perfect. Who doesn't like reminiscing on the simpler times in life?
3. Get some exercise.
The gym actually really helps with stress relief and it's always nice to stay healthy.
4. Sleep
Take the nap you have been pushing off.
5.Treat yourself
grab a cookie, Ice Cream or whatever your weakness is.
6. Let it out
If you're feeling overwhelmed and need to cry, it's okay. It happens and sometimes the best cure is to just let it out.
7. Get some coffee.
Lots and lots of coffee.
8. Take breaks
Take as many breaks as you feel you need to, but not too many that you're not getting work done.
9. Learn to say no
If you're already overwhelmed its OK to say no to tasks you can't complete.
10. Stay organized
The more you have everything organized the less stress you will be under trying to have everything in place allowing you to focus on your work.
Just remember as hard as the next few weeks will be, your hard work will pay off. Spring break is right around the corner and you will be able to watch all the Netflix you want and relax!
