If there's one thing that I learned this year it's that pessimism will ruin you. Whatever you may be overthinking, especially if it's related to your future, don't do it because it will make you want to question every significant decision you make.
It's important to take one day at a time and not stress about things that may be months or even years ahead of you. As someone who has a hard time living in the present, I know this is difficult! I'm always worrying about where my future will take me and if I'll be living the life I have planned out for myself in my head, but the truth is it probably won't all go as planned and I've started to accept that.
If you have something you're passionate about it, don't give up because you're scared of where it might take you, or that you won't be successful in it. Think about all the things you've accomplished so far instead of dwelling too far into the future. You can't compare yourself to other people and their accomplishments, focus on yourself and realize that all good things take time.
Most importantly, don't do anything to prove anything to anyone unless it's yourself; don't invest yourself in something you don't love or value to merely impress others.
Always remember that you are your own biggest critic so when you're overanalyzing a situation, you can take a step back and realize you're probably just being too hard on yourself. No one is going to believe in you if you don't believe in yourself. So while sometimes it can be beneficial to be your biggest critic, remember to be your own biggest supporter as well because you need to believe in yourself more than anyone else.
On that note, it's time to take my own advice and recognize that I don't have to be such a realist all of the time; it's okay to dream & keep reaching for the stars.
