Turning 21 this past weekend, I finally got to experience the nightlife of downtown Boise. It was an experience that I will never forget.
First, my friends and I went to eat dinner at Tap House. Having a great atmosphere, the bar/restaurant has the most beers on tap in Boise downtown with 44. The food was great and the service was a little slow, but understandably so, as they were pretty busy on a Friday night.
Next, we headed to the bars. Fatty's was our first stop and was a great way to start the experience off right. Getting my first birthday shot, I was given "The Wave," in other words, a blue shot of vodka and then water thrown in my face. Great way to start my night off.
After hanging out at Fatty's for about 20 minutes, we decided to head to Main Street, where we would go down to all the other bars downtown. We entered Hannah's next which, in my opinion, was the best bar that I went to downtown. Amazing atmosphere, cheap drinks, and a great live band had me feeling good going on for the rest of the night.
Next, we went to Amsterdam, where I felt "classy." With a chill vibe and good music playing, I felt like I was truly in a nice bar hanging out with my friends.
After that, we went to China Blue, which I was not very fond of. The inside seemed very dark and unappealing, although they did have a nice DJ set up and dance floor.
After China Blue, we went to the bar Silly Birch. I like how this bar was laid out, where you can go around the whole room and the bar is always in the middle of you. There was plenty of space and area to chill and relax.
Overall, my 21 run was an amazing experience, and I found a liking to downtown Boise with its relaxing, yet upbeat vibe, It gives a great overall experience for most that go downtown.
