Growing up living mostly full-time with my mom, I learned quickly just how important she was to me. My mom, like most other moms (I hope), will always be there for me, to love and support me. Recently, I've been away at college and realized now more than ever how amazing of a woman she is, and how much I miss her. Thinking more about what my mom means to me, I came up with this little list of why your mom is always going to be your BFF.
1. She's your biggest fan.
Basketball game? Theater production? Singing in the talent show? You can count on her to not only be there but be just as into it (if not more) then you are. She'll be out in the crowd cheering you on and pumping you up for whatever it is you have to do.
2. She gives the best hugs EVER.
After a day where I've been super stressed out, nothing feels better than a mom hug. They make the world just a little bit better.
3. She'll always be there to pick you up when you get down.
Sometimes school is just too hard, the boy you like asked out another girl or life has you down. Moms will always be there to get you back on your feet and help you out.
4. She gives the best advice.
Just remember, she's done all this already, so most questions you have, she has answers to (that are usually right.)
5. She knows how to handle you when you're freaking out over the little stuff.
When you call your mom listing off hundreds of little things going wrong, she manages to calm you down like no one else can.
6. You want to be like her because she's actually pretty awesome.
When you were little, people would say how much you reminded them of your mom and you'd groan. Now, when people say how similar I am to my mom, I take it as the biggest compliment a person could give.
7. You have the best times together and she always knows how to make you laugh.
Whether it's a week-long vacation or just grocery shopping together, you two can always seem to have a good time together, and always make each other laugh.
8. She will fight for you, and always make sure you're treated how you deserve.
You better believe if any boy ever hurts you or treats you wrong, your mom will be chomping at the bit to tell him just how she's feeling. That bully that finally left you alone in the third grade? I guarantee your mom had something to do with him stopping his consistent attack on you.
9. She will always always always love you.
She will always be there to answer the phone, always be there to help you with whatever you need, because she's your mom. She's never giving up on you. So thank you mom, you're pretty cool.
