10 Reasons Why You Should Go To Firefly Music Festival
Happening Mag

Here are ten reasons why you should go to Firefly Music Festival this summer:

1. The lineup is incredible and covers several music genres. In the same day, you can see pop-punk legends Blink-182 and the alternative British band The 1975. There really is something for everyone. Since there is huge bands and local artists, it might be a great place to discover some music as well as enjoy what you hear on the radio.

2. You can buy necessities on site a The Hub or The General Store. There's also bars and food trucks! While the festival takes place very close to a city with plenty of resources, it's nice to know you won't have to go far to get where you need to be.

3. It's an (optional) camping festival! Camping for a festival is an unforgettable experience and really teaches you to appreciate things like wifi...and showers. It should definitely be on your bucket list.

4. The festival gives back! Firefly gives a portion of certain ticket options to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and also allows for donations. The festival also works with The Code Purple to help homeless youth in Kent county by repurposing the camping equipment left behind by people attending Firefly and accepting donations.

5. There are many options for food on the festival grounds. There will be even healthier options this year, including vegan and vegetarian choices and more!

6. The festival grounds are beautiful. It being nestled in the woods allows for a Hammock Hangout and the lit up Pathway...and shade! The Thicket in particular is super pretty.

7. There are signings so you can meet your favorite artists and buy their music! Sometimes they allow pictures, but they always allow autographs. The main tent is FYE but there are other tents that do them as well.

8. It's like a community. Go into the festival with an open mind and a good attitude and you are sure to leave with new friends. If you are going alone, post in the Firefly chat page and find people to meet up with.

9. There's different ticket option including single day, weekend, and VIP. Single day is great if you all the artists you want to see are on the same day because you save money. VIP gets you access to exclusive viewing areas, air-conditioned areas, and more. You can buy tickets here: https://fireflyfestival.com/passes/

10. It's just a great way to kick off the summer! After finals and all other the hard work you've been doing, you have to reward yourself. It's nice to have something to look forward to but if your vacation and other plans don't start until the end of summer, you might feel like the break was shorter than it was. So grab your friends and hopefully I'll see you at The Woodlands!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
