Finding someone new, is like buying a new pair of jeans after your old ones were ripped to shreds. It feels fresh and new, there aren't any stains on the fabric of your love. It's a clean start that you may desperately need.
The process could be long and lengthy, or short and sweet. Sorting out all the good guys from the not so good guys. The funny ones from the smart ones. It's all about finding that one person that compliments you, that makes you want to be a better person. That one person who will open you up to new experiences, new adventures, but also remind you of who you are.
Loving someone can also be difficult. You have to take all the bad, along with all the good. Some days you could be ready to lash out, break up with them and just be done. While the next day, you could be ready to tell that person that they're the love of your life, and propose.
Love is a tricky thing. It's a game of chance. You can download as many dating apps as you want, and go on as many Tinder dates as you please, but there is no mathematical equation that I could give you to find your, "perfect match" if there even is such a thing in this day and age. We live in a time where it's normal to go on dates with a different guy every day of the week, even to go home with a different guy than the one you just went on a date with. It's common now to not settle down with any one said person, because so many of us like to keep our options open. Whether it's because we're afraid to get our hearts broken for the second or even third time, or because we're all going away to college.
Finding someone that fits in your crazy life, if even for a second, can be exhilarating. When you first start getting to know someone, and you find out all of the things you have in common, you may think that you've found someone that you could say those three famous words to one day. I want you to hold off on confessing your feelings towards them. I want you to look at them, and I mean really look at them. Not just at all the things you may love about them. Look deep, is there anything else that you may not like? Maybe they snore, or they don't wash their hands after they use the rest room. Do they say things they don't always mean? Look at those little things that you may not want to admit, and then weigh everything out. Do all the good things outweigh the bad? If so, then good for you! You're one of the lucky ones. You've won the game of love!
Does the bad outweigh the good? Then honey, I'm sorry to say this but they may not be the one for you. The whole point of forming a relationship with somebody, is to grow and learn. How can you grow and learn if you constantly think that something they're doing is annoying? How is that love?
Do not let this discourage you though. There are plenty of people out there, as cliché as that might sound, but there really is. Go out on dates, have fun. As an old friend used to say, "Let’s make memories" and that's exactly what relationships are about. Making memories.
You may find the love of your life in someone you never would have thought about even having a silly crush on. Or you could find love in a close friend. As long as you let your heart do the talking, I'm sure that you will find love one day, and be happy.
