Finals Week, According To "Friends"

So no one told you finals was going to be this way.

Finals week feels like it will never end, with constantly having tests to study for and increasing stress and anxiety about what the week brings. Although one week is such a short period of time, within those days students face several emotions and thoughts. Being so close to being done can cause ranging emotions within students, as by this point in the school year most are ready to just finish classes and be done with them. According to "Friends" here are how most students are feeling with finals week just around the corner:

1. When your friends ask you to help them study

You barely want to study for your own classes, so you can't imagine how well you would be able to help them with theirs.

2. When you try to ignore your responsibilities

You know that you have to get things done, but you just don't have the motivation. We've done this work all year, why would we have to prove that we know what we're doing? We just push off our responsibilities until the very last second.

3. When you realize how many finals you actually have

You've tried not to think too much about your classes or finals week in general, but since finals week has arrived it's a good idea to check. But once you find out you can't believe that your teachers could be so cruel and ask you to know so much. What did you ever do to them?

4. When stress-eating hits

You know that you shouldn't eat as much as you are but you just can't help it. Your emotions are all over the place and there is so much that you have to do in such little time. What better thing to do then eat?

5. When you're in denial about finals

You're really not fine, but you'd like to have others believe that you are. Maybe if we say it enough times we'll start to believe it.

6. When one of your finals is early in the morning

Really, these teachers are just setting you up for a disaster. Any final before 9 a.m. is just not a good idea. Do they really think that you'll be functioning that early for such a big test?

7. When other people tell you how many finals they have

We get it, we all have finals. Whenever someone tells us how they have less than we do we hate them for it. Could we be you? Please. The less finals, the better.

8. When you finally have to take your finals

Writing down your name is the hardest part, because the time has come to see all of the questions that the professors expect you to know. Can we just not? Finals are your nightmare, but unlike others you cannot just wake up to escape it.

9. When you finished finals week

Freedom. So, so, so much freedom.

Finals are hard, but your "Friends" are in the same boat. You'll get through it.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
