As finals approach, schedules become crammed with projects, papers, and exams, and sometimes we spend more time studying for a specific class and slack on the others. Other times, we sell our souls, study hard, and crush our exams. There are several different outcomes of grades depending on how much you study and how lucky you are when you guess on the questions you don't know the answers to. Here are three possible weather forecasts for finals.
1. Sunny with a cool breeze
Amazing grades! You studied with everything you had in you, and even when you were unsure of your answers, you got lucky and were right! You should be very proud of yourself for receiving the grades you got and should continue to work hard next semester as well. Don't lose your determination to do well or your passion for learning -- those are two key components to succeeding. This was a hard semester with some difficult material to learn, but you did more than well, and you should celebrate yourself a little. Next semester, continue to keep your head above water.
2. Cloudy and light showers
Congratulations, you passed! Studying is hard, and losing motivation is easy, but you persevered and made it through to the end of the semester! Maybe you didn't get the exact grades you wanted, but you passed, and that means you get to move on from the classes you struggled in! Besides, the most important part of college is learning new things, and I bet you learned a lot in the past semester. Continue studying, and if you want to do a little better next time, find time to figure out new study strategies. You are extremely capable with the potential to do what you put your mind to. Keep up the good work and be proud of yourself.
3. Hail
Well, you tried! Some classes are tough -- even introductory classes can be deceiving and actually be really hard to succeed in. You are allowed to feel disappointed or upset with yourself, but please remember that you are still an intelligent being and that you can always improve. I know low grades can damage your motivation to get work done but believe in yourself. Believe you are capable of doing better. I can guarantee that the first step to doing better is thinking you need to do better, and then you have to believe you can do it. The more you tell yourself that, the sooner you'll believe it. Keep in mind that you are still smart, along with other things such as kind, helpful, and ambitious. You are a go-getter who can dust themselves off of the ground when they stumble.
