Ah, Cleveland. The Land. CLE. The Mistake by the Lake. Whatever you want to call it, around here, we call it home. Cleveland may be the punchline of countless jokes, but the joke is on those "comedians" because we Clevelanders know how great our city actually is.
1. Whether we'll openly admit it or not, deep down we all love LeBron James and forgive him for the pain he put us through.
2. The West Side Market is hands down the best place to get fresh food in Cleveland.
3. The Browns may be one of the worst football teams in history, but you better believe we are cheering (crying, screaming, yelling) them on every Sunday.
4. And while our Brownies might not be the best, at least we have the world-renowned Cleveland Orchestra.
5. Sokolowski's University Inn is arguably the best restaurant in Cleveland.
6. Everyone still refers to Progressive Field as Jacobs Field or "The Jake."
7. There are few things more fun than having a relaxing boat day with your friends on Lake Erie.
8. Cleveland is the birthplace of rock and roll and home to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. If you're not into music, do not worry, the Professional Football Hall of Fame is just a short 45-minute drive away in Canton, Ohio.
9. We have one of the best St. Patrick's Day parades around, and whether you are Irish or not, you always celebrate in the fun.
10. "Why do you say your "A's" like that?" and "What's pop?" are just a few common questions we get when travel outside Northeast Ohio.
11. Seeing a show at the Playhouse Square was at least one of your field trips in grade school or high school. It is also a little known fact that Cleveland has the largest theater district in the entire country, outside of New York City.
12. If your parents or grandparents went to a private school in Cleveland, you best believe you are following their footsteps and also attending that school. It's tradition.
13. There is an East Side and West Side rivalry which leaves South siders stuck in the middle.
14. The Feast of the Assumption is something we look forward to every year because cannolis.
15. Saying "I'm from Cleveland" makes you proud.
"At least we're not Detroit!"
