If You Call Yourself A Feminist But Don't Support Abortion, Excuse Me But What?

You're supporting a women's right to choose being taken away when all you want is to be heard and to have a choice?

If You Call Yourself A Feminist But Don't Support Abortion, Excuse Me But What?

So let me get this right. You're a feminist, so you believe in equal rights. You're pushing for equal pay, job opportunities, that women and men are equal on grounds of intelligence, and that socially, we should all be treated equally. You believe that everyone should be equal, and not one gender or race be above another.

Yet, you don't believe that women should have the right to their own body? You believe that what a woman wants to do with her body, is not her choice, but in the hands of a system that you are fighting against to make equal? How does that make sense to you?

You're supporting a women's right to choose being taken away when all you want is to be heard and to have a choice?

As for the argument that you may, and inevitably will say, that another life is in the hands of a woman who is contemplating abortion; there has yet to be any agreement on when life actually starts. No one has the true answer of when life begins, because everyone believes in something different. Some say it's when the fetus is conceived when the heart beats, or when it is able to survive outside the body of another human being. And those are just some, to name a few. Why should a woman be held against her right, on something that hasn't even been decided?

For your next question, Roe v. Wade. The trimester framework for the case is what I believe in. Also, if you may recall, that was a case taken to court for the rights of a woman being violated on choosing what she wanted to do with her body. YES. A WOMAN. The same gender that you want to be EQUAL TO MEN.

So tell me why, instead of taking steps in the right direction, to continue to protect the rights of women, you are supporting taking away the rights of women? If you're a feminist and actually believe in equality, then why?

Why do men get to do what they want with their body, and you want to take a right away from women that allows them to choose what they want to do with their body?

Don't call yourself a feminist if you don't actually support a woman's rights. If you don't want to offer every woman a chance to prosper in their life. If you don't want to bring a better life in the name of equality to all. If you believe that men should continue to dictate what and what we don't do with our bodies and our lives.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
