Feelings That People With Long Distance Best Friends Understand.

Let's be real about it, distance sucks. Whether it's moving away to college, leaving a family member, a boyfriend or a friend, being without that person can be really hard. When I got to college, I made an absolutely amazing best friend who transferred after our first semester and I was heartbroken. I assumed, like most friendships that distance gets in the way of, that we would simply stop talking and move on with our lives. Thankfully, we both realized that wouldn't work because we loved each other too much! I am so thankful to have a long distance best friend, and I know so many people love theirs too. Here are some feelings I know we all share if we have a long distance BFF.

Feeling like you haven't seen them in FOREVER

.

It may have only been a few months or even a few years, but it often feels like centuries since you've last seen your favorite person. You also know the exact amount of weeks, days and hours it's been since you last got to hang out, and are counting down the days until you get to see them again.

Getting super excited when you book a plane ticket to see them.

You set a countdown on your phone, your computer and put the number of days until you see your BFF on your physical calendar. You get to call each other and scream about how excited you are to see each other and talk about all the fun things you're going to get to do when you're together.

When you finally get to see them, it's the best feeling ever.

Omg omg omg, it's finally time to see your soulmate!!! The anticipation on the plane ride and waiting for them to open their door is almost too much to handle.

You also get to hug them for as long as you want because you're finally in the same place at the same time.

You haven't gotten to hug them in like, ever. Do the math, if you'd usually hug them every day, just think of all the days of hugs you've been missing!!

All of the pictures!

When you aren't with them, you always want to post pictures with them. Now that you're together, you get to take about a million pictures because you want to remember every little thing you guys do, and now you have tons of pictures to post with your BFF until you get to see them again.

Cuddles and life talks have never been so important.

Sure it's fun to go out and do fun stuff, but you're also totally content to just lay around and cuddle and catch up on all the things you've been missing out on in each other's lives.

Getting defensive of your time together.

This is YOUR FRIEND TIME, back off. You can see your other friends whenever you want, but you only have a few days with your person, so everyone else needs to wait!!!

Feeling unstoppable when you're together.

You guys are a badass duo! You dress cute, you have so much fun together, and let's face it, you're freaking awesome. No one can bring you two down. When you're together, you become invincible.

Best of all, knowing they'll always be your best friend.

You've already been separated by hundreds, if not thousands of miles. If you can stay friends through this, nothing can pull you apart. You better believe they'll be the maid of honor at your wedding, and you guys will most likely stay friends forever, no matter the distance.

Although I don't get to see her every day or even every year, I am so so thankful she exists in my life. Long distance friendships are able to withstand almost everything if you work hard enough. I can't wait to see my BFF again!!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
