11 Crime Shows On Netflix You Need To Watch

We all have those certain shows that we love to re-watch, because once the series ends you can’t let go of something so great. Myself, I prefer crime shows, and Netflix has many amazing crime shows whose existence I cannot bear to keep a secret -- such as...

  1. "Making a Murderer"
A Netflix Original series, about a man who was wrongfully imprisoned for 18 years, only to be let out and accused of murder a year later. It’s a documentary that follows the 10 year process and shows how corrupt the system becomes to pursue this one man.
  2. "Criminal Minds"
A group of FBI behavioral analysts, who analyze criminal minds all over the country and try to predict the criminals next move before the strike again.
  3. "Lie to Me"
Dr. Cal Lightman can read facial expressions, body language, and tone of voice to determine if a person is lying and why. He helps out law enforcement to seek out the liars.
  4. "How To Get Away With Murder"
A professor of law defense take on four students in her firm to help her with a case involving the murder of a sorority girl and her husband.
  5. "Medium"
Allison is a mother and works for the district attorney's office, who has visions about crimes that occur. She helps out the law under the title of consultant and has to keep her special gift under wraps.
  6. "Grace and Frankie"
A Netflix Original about two older women who have been rivals for a long time only to have spun upon them that their husbands are leaving them for each other. The only thing they can rely on is each other while their husbands get married to each other.
  7. "Dexter"
A serial killer who only kills the criminals because that’s what his father taught him to control his homicidal urges. He works with law enforcement and studies blood splatter patterns.
  8. "Bates Motel"
After her husband dies, Norma Bates buys a motel in White Bay to give her son and her a new start in life. White Bay isn’t all that welcoming and they must do whatever it takes to survive.
  9. "Drop Dead Diva"
A size zero blonde model dies in a car accident and ends up in heaven, only to push the return button and get stuck in a overweight plain lawyer named Jane. She must learn to come to terms with her new life and leave her old one behind.
  10. "Bones"
Dr. Brennan, a forensic anthropologist who works at the Jeffersonian Institution and also writes books, has an impressive ability to read clues from victims' bones. She works with agent Booth to help solve murders.
  11. "Orange is the New Black"
A Netflix Original, where Piper Chapman’s rebel past has caught up to her and she is sentenced to prison. She has a fiance and a successful woman in her mid 30s. She has to learn to adapt to the new lifestyle.

If you find yourself with time to kill, try watching one of these shows. They are all incredibly addicting and are sure to become the highlight of your down time!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
