Remember the early 2000s? Remember the fashion? Sometimes you may wish you don't, because as iconic as Britney and Justin's matching all-denim ensembles were, they were 100 percent cringe worthy.
But I think we can agree there was one thing from the 2000s that were absolutely amazing. And that's the television shows we grew up watching. Below you'll find my absolute favorites, and in my opinion, TV shows that should absolutely be on Netflix streaming!
1. "Degrassi: The Next Generation"
A classic. The early seasons of "Degrassi: The Next Generation" were hilarious and real, dealing with problems real teenagers went through at school. Not to mention the real fashion statements these students were making.
Ehem, Manny's thong, ehem.
If you've never seen the millennial gem that is "Degrassi: The Next Generation," seriously, get on that right now. Get ready to laugh, cry, and be really mad at Craig multiple times during the show.
2. "Lizzie McGuire"
Alright, I'm pretty sure everyone has seen "Lizzie McGuire," or has at least heard of it. It stars the one, the only, Hilary Duff in the days where these outfits were perfectly acceptable:
I wanted to have Lizzie's closet so badly.
Not only was this show amazing, but it led up to an amazing movie where she goes to Italy and becomes a pop star. Yeah, really. Start watching.
3. "America's Next Top Model"
Ok, yeah this show is still on. But it DEFINITELY does not have the ... "charm"... that older seasons used to have. It wasn't nearly as overproduced and over dramatized as current "cycles" are. Oh, yeah...and the seasons are called "cycles."
4. "That's So Raven"
That is SO Raven! Most certainly everyone's favorite from Disney channel besides Lizzie McGuire. I mean, she's a teenage psychic. What's not to like?
Not only was Raven such a good role model for being body positive, but she was also just so freakin' funny.
5. "As Told By Ginger"
Ok, you may be thinking... Why is this on here? It was a kid show nobody cared about.
But please, trust me. "As Told By Ginger" was such a good show, and deserves a re-watch. Yes, it is a cartoon, but it's so smart and deals with real issues.
Unlike many cartoon series for kids, "As Told By Ginger" characters age with every season, and as they age their struggles evolve. Each character also wears different outfits every day, with key favorite pieces they keep around. Kinda cool, right? I could talk about this show all day but please just go ahead and watch it and then tell me I was right.
Also, the Little Seal Girl. Just sayin'.
I'm sure there any many, many television shows on here that I did not mention. But these are my top favorites. Honorable mentions include "Gilmore Girls" (did not include because it is indeed on Netflix and gets a lot of attention!), "Drake and Josh," and "What I Like About You" (starring Amanda Bynes and Jenny Garth).
