Even if you are not a big reader; I bet you still have a list of books that will forever be your favorite. It does not even have to be because of the book or author. It might be because your parents or grandparents or great grandparents read it to you every night or every time they saw you. It might be because of the pictures or the topic or genre of the book.
I love, love, love to read. I have a wide variety of genres I enjoy too. College really opened my eyes as an English major. There were books and poems I read that I never thought I would read in a million years. Some of them are on my top 20 books that I love. I get into a book and just can not put it down. If you read the first 3 pages and you are hooked it is so hard to stop.
My absolutely favorite genre is horror and it had been pretty much my whole life. Now that I am older and went to college I definitely like more genres. I especially like Shakespeare. My English professor, Dr. Schaffer, taught Shakespeare and she really made me love his stuff.
1. Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown
I remember having this read to me and me reading it on my own. Something simple to read and it is a cute book. The rabbit is just saying goodnight to everything he sees in the bedroom. I think the book also teaches children to say goodnight to anyone around you before you go to bed.
2. Christine by Stephen King
No, I do not like this book because the title just happens to be my name! I love the face that it is a horror book and what is cooler than a killer car? Just the ideas in the book are neat and it really makes you wonder how creative some authors are that they come up with this stuff.
3. The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins
Let me tell you how I was not going to read any of these because everyone made all this hype about them. I opened the first book and started reading and did not put it down until I was done the whole book. The whole concept of the series is so neat and the movies are amazing too.
4. Twelth Night by Shakespeare
Just read Sparknotes you will see why I love this play. Plus, it is a comedy. Lots of love gone sort of wrong.
5. The Shining by Stephen King
It is just so creepy it is hard not to love.
