One of the easiest insults to throw at a person is calling them fat. It's easy, because it hurts almost everyone. I've certainly been called fat.
Growing up, people used to refer to me as fat. This truly didn't offend me at all, until I found out that it was supposed to. I've spent almost every moment since that realization trying to be anything but fat. "Fat" is something no one wants to be.
We count our worth on a number gravity gives us, and measure the toll it has on us by how many strangers find us suitable for their eyes. We look at ourselves with such scrutiny hoping no one sees that we've gained unwanted weight. We make promises to ourselves every week to start a new diet. We pray that we don't look fat in pictures. Because there's nothing worse than being fat, is there? Fat is the worst thing you can be.
Being fat is worse than being cruel, intolerant, hollow, arrogant, or vapid. If you disagree with that statement, then why do you look at yourself and hate yourself for what you see?
People were not designed with the sole purpose of being looked at. People were made to be strong, to be smart and to better the world. No offense, but not one person has made the world better by simply being beautiful. No one discredits the ocean as beautiful because of how much space it takes up. It only gets more beautiful the more you see of it. You only get more beautiful with every inch of this planet that you take up.
There is more to a person than a number or a size. You are a size plus a heart, a personality, and a soul. You were not made to be a skeleton. You should not hate your growth. There are stories within that growth that do not need to be discredited. There is time that has passed, strength that has been shown, hardships overcame, and happy times that happened while you were growing and because you were growing.
It's har to wear your own skin sometimes, but you should wear it with pride not matter how it looks. It is not how you look, but how you hold your self in your day to day life that determines your beauty. And your beauty doesn't determine your worth.
