It's Not A Fantasy... Football Is Back! — Top Draft Picks For The 2018 Season

In This Article:

Draft season is among us ladies and gentlemen and I'm providing the top picks for your NFL fantasy football team this year! If you're a veteran, just looking for a quick update on who's topping the charts, or a newcomer who NEEDS a cheat sheet, we have the hottest lists just for you. In each position, we have the top five men that you'll want in your starting line up for the season opener.

Prepare your celebration dances, because this season's going to be a hit.

Running Backs

Let's face it, there are not that many of them. Maybe in numbers but skill wise, everyone wants to grab a good running back while they have a chance. Plus, let's face it, they PUT UP POINTS. Depending on the opponent, unless they have a strong force defense, your running back has a chance to get you wins. Therefore, I'd highly recommend drafting them first, if you have a good draft pick number and they're not already taken.

1. TODD GURLEY- Rams

2. LE'VEON BELL- Steelers

3. EZEKIEL ELLIOTT- Cowboys

4. DAVID JOHNSON- Cardinals

5. SAQUON BARKLEY- Giants

Wide Receivers

Catch after catch after catch. With the most yardage, typically, in games, these players can give you point after point that will lead you to victory. Unfortunately, they also drop too, so if you're willing to jump up and cheer when Odell stretches like Mrs. Incredible in the end zone for a catch, or to break your TV when they drop the game-winner, be sure to snag one of these top players.

1. ANTONIO BROWN- Steelers

2. DEANDRE HOPKINS- Texans

3. ODELL BECKHAM JR.- Giants

4. JULIO JONES- Falcons

5. MICHAEL THOMAS- Saints

Tight Ends

GRONK SMASH! But not his knee...or arm...or back....please. Is he worth a top draft pick this season?!? I couldn't tell you. Personally, yes, I'm willing to take the risk to get the points. But, there's an 80% chance he's going to get injured again this 2018 season, so your call. The rest of the tight ends are basically irrelevant, but you're going to need them on your roster anyway so here you go.

1. ROB GRONKOWSKI- Patriots

2. TRAVIS KELCE- Chiefs

3. ZACH ERTZ- Eagles

4. GREG OLSEN- Panthers

5. JIMMY GRAHAM- Packers

Quarterbacks

The G.O.A.T. is back people. Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr. is ready for yet another season of making fans and hater's jaws drop at his 60-yard touchdown passes. There are many records just waiting to be broken by him this season, and another Super Bowl trophy staring him in the eyes waiting to be held. QBs can be a positive top pick, the thing is there are so many, except the priceless Brady of course, players that will put up a sufficient amount of points for your team this season.

1. TOM BRADY- Patriots

2. AARON RODGERS- Packers

3. RUSSEL WILSON- Seahawks

4. CAM NEWTON- Panthers

5. DESHAUN WATSON- Texans

Kickers

Giphy

Please, don't be the guy who drafts a kicker for the first round, or you will NEVER, and I mean NEVER, hear the end of it. Kickers get you a few points here and there, but they are defiantly not worth drafting until the last rounds.

1. STEPHEN GOSTKOWSKI- Patriots

2. JUSTIN TUCKER- Ravens

3. MATT BRYANT- Falcons

4. GREG ZUERLEIN- Rams

5. WIL LUTZ- Saints

Defense

Giphy

They're a step above the kickers, but choosing a good defense doesn't come before getting the key players, and even bench players, you need on your roster. They can give you points, depending on the game and the intensity of the opponent, but get those must have men first before signing away to a defense that can fluctuate throughout the season.

1. JAGUARS

2. VIKINGS

3. EAGLES

4. RAMS

5. CHARGERS

Prepare your winners trophy you made from the garbage you found around your house, and the loser's punishment of wearing a cheerleading uniform for a day, because in a few short weeks Saturdays and Sundays will be not just for the boys, but for football.
