Just picture all the leaves on the ground as you drive down the road, and the nice cool breeze making its way through the car on a perfect sunny fall day. The famous autumn smells we are used to, pumpkin carving like we are little kids again, and dressing up the scarecrow on your front lawn.
I have always enjoyed fall; for one, my family celebrates many birthdays. You're crazy if you don't love birthday cake and ice cream multiple times a month. My family has always had Thanksgiving here in East Tennessee, and I remember taking a drive on the strip through Pigeon Forge to see all the Christmas lights. Thanksgiving is by far one of my favorite holidays, where it is absolutely okay to stuff your belly full of turkey. Of course, then comes the famous afternoon nap, and back to all the food again around dinner time.
With the season changing comes all the pretty fall colors. We start to wear scarves, beanies, and vests, all clothes items we love to get out of our closet. Some girls begin to wear darker shades like browns, olive, and maroon from makeup to clothes. Better make your way to Starbucks now ladies, because pumpkin spice is back. There's just about everything with pumpkin spice in it, thanks to our basic white girls who have made it famous over the years. I'm ready for all the baking that comes with the holidays, ever since I was a little girl I would help my grandmother bake desserts in the kitchen. Bath and Body Works makes it so hard to not spend at least $50 with the incredible holiday smells. Of course, I'm gonna get the essentials to make sure I have the house and my room smelling like fall and even Christmas. Go trick or treating, trust me, you are never too old. Make sure to eat plenty of candy corn and dress up for Halloween, you will have those memories till you are old.
Fall is one more reason for me to get outside and be adventurous. It's just the right temperature to go for a nice hike and see all the beautiful colors, or take your dog to the park. Unless if you happen to live in East Tennessee where it's 85 degrees and October. We would all like to think it is cooler, but before you know it Christmas will be upon us and we will be wishing for that 85-degree weather back. Carving pumpkins was a tradition for my family growing up, and my brother's was always better than mine. I still carve pumpkins, but now I do it with my friends at our annual fall bonfire. My mom is a big season and holiday decorator, and one year she went through all the trouble to make a huge scarecrow display on our front lawn. The display was of a mom scarecrow and two daughter scarecrows. She even used an old pair of my favorite jeans, I didn't even know till after we took it down.
This is the best season, so get together with your friends and family. Enjoy the time you have with them, and make outrageous memories to last a lifetime. Tis' the season of pumpkin!
