Fall, The Season Of Comfort

This is the best season for some of the best reasons.

Fall is an amazing season. It's actually my favorite season for so many reasons. It's the most comfortable season. It has many great things to offer. From seasonal treats to fun events, this season is one to be enjoyed by all.

During this season, there are many treats offered that are not usually available during the rest of the year. Candy apples are a sweet, sticky and enjoyable treat. Obtaining cavities has never been more enjoyable! Candy apples can be found in at local fairs, carnivals and other fall events. You can even make them at home. Unpopular opinion: Candy corn is a pleasant Halloween snack. I used to hate it, but now, I don’t mind it. It's also fun to use them as vampire teeth.

Fall is also sweater weather. As a person who loves wearing hoodies, I find this to be the most comfortable season to do so. It can be a light or heavy sweater. You won’t burn up from a heat stroke. You also don’t have to worry about freezing from not wearing enough layers. Let's not forget the sweater dresses. Because it is also football season, you can always wear that $50 NFL or SEC hoodie you bought. You can also wear “boots with the fur” without having your legs coated in sweat.

Halloween happens during the fall. This holiday is not just about the free candy that people give away. It also means dressing up in costumes. It's also one of the best times to see the neighbors yards decorated with pumpkins, ghosts, and scarecrows. The best Halloween films appear on SyFy and AMC throughout the month. I love horror films, so even if I don’t own them, I can count on AMC to air them. Let’s not forget watching “Nightmare Before Christmas” until December is over.

This is also the season of everything pumpkin. The pumpkin flavor has become a fall favorite. Pumpkin spice chai lattes are amazing. I first tried one during my freshman year of college. Ever since then, I have developed a taste for pumpkin. Another fall treat that I enjoy is pumpkin cider. It tastes like apple cider that contains a nostalgic pumpkin-like flavor. It brings back wonderful fall memories. For some reason, the flavor of pumpkin brings back old memories, and also a feeling of nostalgia. It seems as if with every passing year, there are more pumpkin-flavored foods including oatmeal, cereal, marshmallows and who knows what else.

Fall is also the season that I was born. I was born in the middle of October. Luckily, fall break has fallen right around my birthday every year during college. Because of this twist of fate, I have been able to go home each time. I have always been able to look forward to seeing my family and friends for my birthday. I also look forward to going to “Cruisin’ the Coast.” This event takes place along Highway 90 around Mississippi Gulf Coast. My father has been taking me to this event since I was a little girl. It allows people from different places to showcase their antique vehicles.

Fall is the best season of the year. Another great reason to love fall is that you can take long strolls or drives down the road and see the beautiful colors of the leaves and trees. The weather, clothing, food and events make it an outstanding time of the year to look forward to. It is the one time of the year that I would thoroughly enjoy a walk around town to get into the holiday spirit, which is fall.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
