Fall: Nature's New Beginning

There are a lot of people that say spring is the best time for a new beginning. And there are others who believe the winter and ringing in the new year are just fine. I'd like to propose the argument that the season of fall is indeed the best time for starting anew. I'm not entirely sure if it's because I've always gone back to school around this season, but something about fall just feels right for making new changes. Look at the weather during fall. The trees loose their leaves, the plants turn brown and go away. The old leaves to make way for the new. Which would make you think that once again spring is really where change begins, but that's not where it really starts.

Change begins when the old starts to die and go away. You can't have change without something going away. That's what happens in the fall. Everything that was once old starts to disappear for the new. Nature has been something that has inspired people for centuries to make different decisions. Maybe that's one of the reasons why fall feels so right for change.

From the leaves disappearing to the colors going from bright to dull, everything around us is transforming. So it makes motivates us to change right along with it. You can even feel it during the summer months. You've got to soak up that last little bit of sun before everything changes once again. That word is coming up a lot, huh?

Change.

Hopefully it doesn't frighten you because change is something that's always going to happen, come rain or shine. We see it again and again each new season.

It's that time for a new beginning and you can even feel it in the air. The brisk chill that is felt from the wind whipping around you brings the spark of a new promise. We all become different people as we move on in life, it's just natural. Take the advice you feel from the season and make those changes that are hidden deep down in the pit of your gut. They say you're gut is never wrong, anyway.

So go ahead and make those changes you've always been wanting to make. Start that new excessive program because it makes you feel amazing. Go for that new career because you feel drawn to it and it's something you've always loved. There is nothing wrong with making transitions, especially in a season like fall. It's bound to happen anyway, so why not just go ahead and do it now?

Become that better person that you know you can be. If it helps any, know that I believe you can too.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
