This election season has been without a doubt the most radical election America has ever seen. The candidates we have chosen have disappointed us more ways than one, putting us as citizens in a difficult position. Both candidates have been accused of actions that deem them both unworthy and untrustworthy to be our future president. We put a lot of faith in believing that he or she is going to be the one that heals our nation. Then a new scandal surfaces on social media and we begin to question our faith. However, we still keep your faith with our preferred candidate.
We put so much hope into a candidate hoping that they will be able to fix all of the issues that face our nation.
The bottom line is that no matter how much good a president may do, you will always be disappointed.
No president will be able to meet your every wish or desire. They can do a lot of things right, but there will never be a perfect president. The only perfect person able to lead our nation is God. Throughout the crazy election season and the various scandals that face our country, I like to rest on these Bible verses for a peace of mind.
~Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.~ Matthew 6:34
This election is a turning point in our country. The new president will appoint a new Supreme Court Justice. They will be the one that will either heal the current issues or create more division. It causes many people to fear the results of the upcoming election. However, I refuse to believe that this election will be the end all be all of America. We need to stop worrying about what will happen as a result of the election and focus on the here and now.
~This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; and I trust Him.~ Psalm 91:2
We live in a world where, unfortunately, safety is sometimes not a guarantee. Whenever I feel like I am unsafe or am just fearful of terrorist attacks, I find peace remembering that God looks out for me and is my source of safety.
~Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.~ Ephesians 4:31-32
As Is scroll through Facebook, all I see is post after post about the election. I am all about people sharing their opinions, but sometimes they take it too far. People attack each other all because they disagree on different points in the election. This verse reminds me of how we need to stop yelling at each other due to our opinions and accept the fact that we will all disagree at one point. Fighting with each other will not solve the issues our country has, it will just make matters worse.
~And we know that in all things God works for the good of those they love him.~ Romans 8:28
We can hope and pray to have a president that has the same viewpoint as yourself. You even hope that they implement the changes that you want. That will never be the case for you. There will always be something that is not up to par with your standards. They may even do something that will be terrible for the country. By putting our faith in God, he guarantees us that he work for the good of his people.
~If our God is for us, who can be against us?~ Romans 8:31
If we put God on our side, there is nothing we cannot do. As long as we have God on our side, we can always face the challenges that the world throws at us.
~but they have rejected me as their king. As they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day..."Listen to them and give them a king.~ 1 Samuel 8:7-8, 22
I mentioned this because I think we should not vote, correct? WRONG. This serves as a reminder that God was meant to be our sole king and ruler, but we rejected him. God never wanted there to be kings or presidents, but since the people were set on having a king, he gave them one. God cares about this election just like he did when anointing a king.
So please go out and vote November 8th for the candidate that you believe will be the best for our country. Just remember that there is someone much more important than a president to put your faith and trust in.
