Being a Christian in college can be hard. You're constantly worried about everything going on around you–classes, your social life, money, and relationships, etc. The list could go on forever, and sometimes your faith gets put on the back burner. It also doesn't help that you can be surrounded by people that aren't Christians. However, you'll always be surrounded by those types of people in life. You can't let other people affect your faith and these are some ways that you can keep your faith in college.
Keep up with a daily devotional.
This is personally one of my favorite ways to keep up with God in college. There's so many ways to do this - you can go out and buy different devotional books, find ones online or there are even apps that you can get on your phone. You can also get one catered to what you like: there's some for young women, young men, college students–Duck Dynasty even has a devotional! Reading my devotional is my perfect start to the morning, because it gets me to start thinking about God as soon as I wake up.
Read your Bible.
This is a super simple one, but so many college Christians don't even think to read their Bible because they're worried about reading their textbooks and studying. While keeping up with your grades is obviously important, you can always make time for God!
Find a church that you like at school.
Going to a new church where you don't know anyone can be difficult. You may not want to go to a different church because you love your one at home, or you may not think it's worth it. But in reality, your school is your home for the next four years!
Join a Christian organization on campus (or start one!)
This is a great way to meet other Christians at your school and learn about God with them.
Surround yourself with like-minded people.
You should always be surrounding yourself with the right people at school–find the people that will make you better, not tear you down.
Pray.
This is the simplest thing to do. Pray about everything. Pray about school. Pray about work. Pray about friendships. Pray about your relationships. If you only choose one thing to do from this entire list, praying is easily the best way to keep your faith strong!
