As fun as it is to go out, socialize, and dance like nobody's watching, sometimes you just want to fly solo. There are nights when you want to be able to put on your pajamas, heat up some leftover pizza, and finally get around to that movie that's been on your Netflix list for ages. But when your roommate or best friend is trying to drag you to go out with them, it can be a huge struggle to try and get out of. Whether it's going out to a party or to grab some dinner, it can seem like a whole ordeal when you're just not feeling it. So here are some tactics that you can try to convince your friend of why you can't go out tonight:
1. Be in complete denial
"What is a party? What is outside? What is a social life?"
2. Explain how you don't feel like spending money
"Is Monopoly money acceptable?"
3. You're trying to stay healthy
"I just really need to clear up my pores."
4. You don't want to have to get dressed up
"I'm all about comfort."
5. You already have a dramatic meltdown scheduled for that night
"I'm not being dramatic! You are!" *flips table*
6. You don't want to get lost
"My mom lost me in a mall once and I haven't been the same since."
7. Suggest an alternative option
"Who needs friends when you have fries?"
8. Stress how busy you are
"I literally have a time for me to cry scheduled for 2:40 p.m. on Tuesday."
9 Say you're too tired
"My bed's going through some difficult things right now and really needs my support."
10. Show you're willing to compromise
"I'm not unreasonable as long as I can do exactly what I want: nothing."
11. Get straight up sassy
"Is this really that big of a deal? I'm already three hours into this 'Say Yes to the Dress' marathon."
12. Whine your heart out
"Why?!"
13. Express how you need your privacy
"A girl's got to have her standards."
14. You just can't go
"It's not that I won't or that I don't want to, I just can't."
