St. Augustine once said, "The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page." Traveling is a life-changing experience that opens your mind and gives wings to your soul. Meeting people from other cultures, seeing new places, and trying different kinds of food enrich your cultural baggage and helps you find your true self. I absolutely love traveling, and visiting every place in the world is the #1 item on my bucket list.

Since I am Italian, I have been traveling around Europe since I was 7 and I grew up with a cosmopolitan mentality thinking that the world is my home. If you haven't gotten out of your country yet, I encourage you to do so. Get out of your comfort zone, explore the unknown, and live like there is no tomorrow!

Here are 6 things all globetrotters know to be true:

1. You are always on a hunt for cheap flights.

Traveling can be expensive, therefore cheap flights are a MUST. I am a broke college student too, so I understand the struggle. To save money, keep your eyes glued on the computer screen 24/7 and monitor the low-cost airlines website to see if there are any good deals. When you find one, you feel like you hit the jackpot!

2. You have friends from all over the world.

Having friends from different countries is amazing because you basically have a home everywhere you go. Your foreign friends will always invite you to come visit them. Even if you may not be rich enough to afford a trip to New Zealand right now, do not worry. The offer does not expire. Visiting a country with the guide of a local friend is always better than doing a touristic tour because you get to have the authentic experience. Your foreign friend can show you all the hidden beautiful panoramic spots, suggest you the best local restaurants, and teach how to live like a local.

3. You'd rather have a passport full of stamps than a house full of stuff.

Remember that you can always earn more money, but you can't get more time. So travel around and collect stamps from different countries. Every stamp in your passport represents a story. Each story is connected to a place you visited, to the people you met and the memories you made. Those colorful stamps on the pages of your passport are a sign of your adventurous spirit and of your desire to see the world.

4. Your packing skills are on point.

After all the trips you've taken, you have become a packing expert. You have mastered the art of fitting four pairs of shoes, six dresses, and a curling iron in a carry-on and you have learned some space saving tricks such as stuffing your underwear and socks inside your shoes and rolling t-shirts.

5. Your camera is overloaded with thousands of pictures.

The memory card on my camera is consistently full. In order to capture the essence of every moment, I take pictures during my trips. Even if the photos will never give justice to the indescribable mixed feeling of freedom, excitement, and happiness that you experience when you travel, pictures can bring back the memory of it.

6. You are already planning for your next trip.

You are always thinking about the next place you want to visit. You have a travel guide, a dictionary, and a half packed suitcase, and you are constantly searching for cheap hotels on TripAdvisor. Once the trip is over and you crossed off that place from your bucket list, you start planning again for you next adventure!

I hope this article has persuaded you to get out of your house and to hop on the next flight. I think everybody should experience being foreign at least once because traveling means living life to the fullest!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
