Cheers everyone,
September has been an interesting month, for many of us. We started school, Summer became Fall, and the world has been changing all around us. (I mean have you read the news lately?) And with world changes come our own changes. I, personally, am obsessed with lots of new music, new drinks, and new clothes.
So without further ado, these are my top 10 favorites of this month:
1. Iced Green Tea Lattes: If you're obsessed with green tea and matcha like I am, you would love this sweet iced drink from Starbucks. It is the perfect balance between sweet and not-too-sweet, and it is still enjoyable during the colder months of the year. (Take it from me, I've had 10 this week alone #judgeme.) So, if today you're not in the mood for that 4th cup of coffee, order this totally Pinterest-worthy drink, post a pic on your Instagram, and get addicted with me!
2. Face Masks: As we transition from the hot, humid weather of late Summer into the chilly days of September, your skin is going to be cracking like woah. In order to restore some of the nice moisture in our skin, stop by your local Sephora and pick up some face masks for only $6 a pop. My personal favorites are the rose and the green tea masks from the Sephora collection. They're super easy to apply, so just slap one on before you work on that essay, start the timer for 15 minutes (or leave forget about it and leave it on forever like I do), and feel the glorious smoothness and revitalization of your face. You're welcome.
3. Suicide Squad: I don't care what everyone says about this movie. It was so freaking good. The concept? Great. The music? Boppin'. The direction? I don't know much about movie directing so like it was pretty good for my taste. Harley Quinn is so me and I love this movie. Go see it. That is all.
4. Flannels: They are the quintessential fall piece, so you have the Autumnal Obligation, to go buy so many. They will take up half of your fall wardrobe and yes, you will look like Luke Danes from Gilmore Girls. (But is that really a bad thing?) Flannels are perfection because you can literally wear them so many ways. You can dress them up or down, based on what you pair them with. Examples include rolled up jeans and converse (what I'm wearing rn), black leggings and uggs, with a corduroy skirt and riding boots, or practically any mismatch of those. Have fun and if you're stuck, look to Pinterest for inspiration.
5. Twenty One Pilots: There is not much that I love more than getting obsessed with new music, and this has definitely happened this month. I know I'm super late on this bandwagon (teehee), but Blurryface has been on repeat ever since last week. I recommend you go listen to that album so quick and so much. Especially The Judge. Great song.
6. OPI 'Significant Other Color': This is the cutest freaking nail polish color in all of existence. And it looks like a UNICORN. It's glittery with light purple and green shimmery colors that change color when you look at it from a different angle. I just got them painted this color on Friday night, and I've been obsessed ever since. Everyone keeps commenting on my nail color and I'm like, "IKR?" Relatable. Moral of the story: Go paint your nails like a unicorn. Your life will be magical and everyone will love you.
7. Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser's Oil Set: My mom brought testers for this line home for me last week and I became obsessed. For people of most hair types, this is perfect. It smoothes, de-frizzes, and controls your hair, making it much easier to deal with in the morning. It's hydrating, as well, which is awesome as we move into the colder months. Amen for this.
8. Fall Weather: Honestly though. It just became nippier outside and that gave me so much hope for the world, because who doesn't love cool weather? You know, the weather where you don't need a big jacket yet, and you're totally fine wearing your boyfriend's comfy sweatshirt (what can I say, it's cozy and has his name on the back!). It's also almost time for Ugg boots, aka the comfiest shoes in the world. It's the most wonderful time of the year everyone, so bundle up and get comfy cozy.
9. Raspberry Zinger tea: Yes, another warm drink. How predictable, Emma Sophie. I discovered this yesterday at rehearsal and it's amazing. Also, no caffeine, which is good for singing. It tastes so sweet and fresh and fruity and I just LOVE IT. Drink me, Alice.
And finally...
10. Writing for the Odyssey Online! Writing for something other than school is so relaxing and I love being able to share my ideas with all of you. It's a great way to de-stress and make my thoughts and ideas become real. It's super fun and I recommend you all join in the fun!
I hope you enjoyed my top 10 for this month, and expect to see some more in the future! See ya next week,
Emma Sophie
