"Alright class, next week is our final exam, but this week you still have an essay and class assignment due Friday. Happy studying."

It's the end of the semester with last-minute essays, presentations and homework assignments. Students around this time tend to be the busiest with little room for recreational activities and relaxation. Stress on students can affect their class performance, grades, and personal health. As a fellow student, these ideas, places, and events can help lift the weight off your shoulders.

1. Draw/Color

Drawing and coloring are both very therapeutic. Concentration from these activities help to promote brain function and personal well-being. "Coloring definitely has therapeutic potential to reduce anxiety, create focus or bring about more mindfulness". With the focus coloring and drawing takes, it may help forget about stress or even temporarily alleviate it.

2. Listening To Music

Everyone has a playlist, genre or specific song to turn to in a time of stress or uneasiness. It helps calm the soul. According to Harvard University, other than helping ease stress, music can help easing anxiety and discomfort during procedures, helps to restore lost speech, help subside the effects of cancer therapy, helps with physical therapy and rehabilitation, pain relief and improving the quality of life for people with dementia.

3. Going For A Run or Workout

Whether running at a gym, in a neighborhood, or around town, backing away from whatever the reason of stress is and getting to exercise can be very health beneficial. Not only prying away from the moment's stress, but working out is healthy for the body and mind.

4. Car Rides

According to Science Daily, cruising around in a car, at a safe speed, can help any driver, people of all ages and social classes "an invaluable opportunity for problem-solving."

"... Although driving is now more commonly associated with road-rage than relaxation and the car is facing necessary extinction on environmental grounds, evidence of the ways in which driving can positively direct and structure thought raises interesting questions for our 'driverless' future,"--Professor Pearce.

5. Bowling

The game of bowling has been around since the early 1900s but has been losing popularity. It may seem silly, just throwing a ball at some pins, but in reality, not only does it help a person to focus on the game rather than another issue going on, bowling is a fun activity to do with friends. Smiles and laughs are irreplaceable, as well as being stress-free, for even a little while.

While looking ahead into the next few weeks, with assignments due, final exams to take and classes to finish, take a deep breath. While the stress may seem unbearable or continuously mounting up, take time to distress, even for a small amount of time before getting back to studying. You will feel better in the end.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
