Happy 8 Months, Odyssey!

Our Eight Month Anniversary
Life Hack

Wow. A whole eight months. It truly is incredible how much someone can change after 8 months. I can wholeheartedly say that being a Content Creator for Odyssey for 8 months has completely changed me. Being handed the opportunity to work under such an amazing company has opened countless doors for me, and I cannot believe where the past eight months has taken me.

I started off eight months ago, at the start of our community, as a shy writer who didn't really know if she wanted her work to be published for the world to see. Every time MUSE would automatically post my articles on my social media platforms, I would cringe a little bit -- I was so scared of the criticism and negativity that I was convinced I'd receive. But article after article got published, and each came back with more and more positive feedback than I could have ever imagined. It was a truly unbelievable feeling for me, and I opened myself up as the weeks flew by.

Odyssey has given me the courage to leave my mark on Morris County. Soon, I will be a college student at a university far from home. I won't be here to voice my opinions or share my thoughts. By writing for Odyssey, I've left my mark for all to see after I've left for college. It has also given me the courage to express how I feel on all different types of topics: politics, mental illnesses, siblings, and so many more amazing topics.

My Morris County Odyssey team has been such an amazing backbone for the past months. Although we've lost more than a few content creators along the way, we just surpassed Olympian together and I couldn't be a prouder member of this team. From the veterans to the newcomers: I love you all and have tremendous respect for you guys. I know firsthand how many hours you put into being a creator and you should all be proud of yourselves. Our editors put in even more work, and they are really incredible. If it weren't for this amazing team, I'm not sure where my writing career would be.

Eight months, 34 articles, and countless breakdowns later, we've made it here. I'm no longer the shy little girl in her room writing random articles. I've grown as a writer, and my love for this platform has grown each week. I can't thank Odyssey enough for eight months of amazing content. I wouldn't give up my time with you for the world.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
