Edwin Jackson -- a man of many talents. He played college football at Georgia Southern University, signed with the Arizona Cardinals as an un-drafted free agent in 2015, and then spent two seasons with the Indianapolis Colts as a linebacker. However, the 26 year old was recently killed in a car crash; the morning of the Super Bowl to be exact.
Jackson was in the car with his Uber driver, Jeffrey Monroe, when he proclaimed that he needed him to pull over because he was feeling sick. So, he did. He pulled over on the shoulder. They were then struck by a drunk driver, by the name of Manuel Orrego-Savala, who was actually in the country illegally and has been deported twice.
One of our own was killed by a man who doesn't even live here legally, but who is probably benefitting off of American citizens in some way. His blood alcohol level was awfully high and he was also driving without a license.
Orrego-Salava was drunk, behind a wheel, driving with no license, and is here illegally. How can we keep letting this happen? When does this madness stop?
We have to put an end to people coming here illegally and claiming this country as their own and getting away with crimes like this.
Donald Trump needs to continue to take action to build the border wall because if he doesn't, then this stuff will continue to happen. How are we going to let our own people fall victim to those who are illegal? If you want to come here, then you should become an American citizen. I, personally, get tired of people who ultimately "use" the system to benefit themselves. We have to put an end to the madness.
What happened was a senseless and avoidable tragedy. This should not have happened.
"The loss of life at the hands of illegal immigrant criminals should make all Hoosiers sad and ultimately angry. We must do more to get these dangerous illegal immigrant criminals off of our streets, and guarantee this never happens again by building a wall, ending sanctuary cities, and stopping illegal immigration once and for all," said Representative Todd Rokita, who is a Republican from Indiana.
