Bc Your Girl Has Got To Eat!

Eating My Way Through NYC

This past weekend my friends and I took a voyage from our hometown, Rochester NY, a small suburb, to New York City, the city that never sleeps. After a super draining train ride, we finally arrived in the city. What was our first stop? Of course breakfast.

1. Breakfast? Breakfast.

Our first stop was at Ess-A-Bagel. Here I got an everything bagel with cream cheese, eggs, cheese, and tomato slices. The eggs provide protein to keep me full while we treck through the streets. And, the carbs provide me with the insta energy that I need to start of my shopping

2. The Nectar Of The Gods

What breakfast is complete without a morning coffee. On our walk to our favorite stores, we had to stop at the nearest Starbucks. My new go-to order is a chai tea (not the,). This is a hot drink that will keep your hands warm while roaming through the streets and while the wind whipping my hair across my face. And, it will help you save on the added sugar that the normal chai latte contains while still providing you a burst of caffeine to keep you awake.

3. Sweet Green

If you haven't heard of this salad chain stop? you have been living under a rock. But, like seriously though where have you been. , is perfect if you are a broke college student (like my friends and me) looking for a filling, delicious, yet still healthy lunch. I always order the Warm Harvest Bowl, which has a base of Kale. Then it is topped off with sweet potatoes, apples, goat cheese, slivered almonds, and balsamic dressing.

4. Caffeine Queens.

Shopping is an intense workout. You have to walk around with heavy bags which give your arms and back an intense workout. The fuel for this workout? Coffee. We stopped in the Joe and The Juice coffee shop mid-day for almond milk lattes. This gave us a chance to rest our feet and refuel before heading back out.

5. Are you a true Gossip Girl fan if you do not go to SaraBeth's

Obviously not. My friends and I stopped here for dinner on our way home. I got a warm grilled cheese which was served on pretzel bread and a side of tomato soup.

6. Dig In !!

Another fast casual place but, super delicious. My friends and I each got the grain bowls with wild brown rice, sweet potatoes, kale caesar salad, and mac and cheese on top. My total meal was just around $10. ,

Dessert Time.

No meal is complete without something sweet afterward. So, where did we go? Milk Bar!! Milk Bar has their own unique cereal flavored soft serve. I got chocolate covered pretzel and cereal milk twist soft serve. The flavor combo? Great. My wallet after? Not so great. This is overhyped for the price but still satisfying.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
